So, will anyone buy Manchester or Plymouth? Manchester has everything going for it. Plymouth has nothing going for it except for fans and history. That's probably not enough. Manchester will keep going, or possibly collapse when 777 Partners collapses but re-emerge quickly. Plymouth is probably doomed. No one is buying these clubs from 777 Partners. Are they buying them from 777? or from the BBL? I just saw that a decision on 777 takeover of Everton is imminent and due before the end of Feb, maybe sooner. What's people views on if they get accepted and they do take over Everton?

With their history of criminal activities, and financial irregularities it is highly unlikely the takeover of Everton will be permitted, which will lead to the probably collapse of Everton, & 777 in the UK.

Well that was predictable from you. You should look into the Nottingham Forest owner. His history of criminal activity makes Josh Wander look like an angel. But... What if the takeover does get approved?

Regardless of how Evangelos Marinakis made his money it's now his money. 777 Partners have other people's money. What if they run out of money and the investors want their money back. It looks a lot like Allen Stanford.

Yes businesses borrow money, but football clubs are usually bought by people who have money. Oligarchs and oil billionaires.

If 777 Partners do go ahead and purchase Everton FC then I don't think it really guarantees anything one way or another for the BBL or the London Lions.
On the one hand, if their ownership of Everton is financially successful they'll have more solid money to invest in their current portfolio, like the BBL and London Lions, making them more secure. On the other hand if their ownership of Everton isn't financially successful one of the first things they'll do is look to off load their other investments, like the BBL and London Lions, to allow them to focus everything on new favourite child - Everton. And maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing, there's quite a few people on here in favour of 777 Partners selling the BBL and London Lions, and it's certainly better than bankruptcy.
I'll also say that the 'will they, won't they' of Everton FC has worked in the favour of the BBL and probably the London Lions. For as long as there's a chance 777 Partners could be allowed to buy Everton there's now way they're going to allow either to collapse, so they've kept investing more money when it's been needed - invest a few million here, to save a hundreds of millions deal over there. But if the Everton deal is a no go there's no longer a need for 777 Partners to protect it's reputation in the UK, so no longer a need to continuing investing in the BBL or London Lions. Unless they want to, of course.

No team in the league is 'sustainable' reckon Eagles and Riders are sitting on huge cash reserves? Nope, they spend what they can each season. London just have far deeper pockets. Would I be concerned if I was a Lions fan that the investors run out of money? Sure, but we have no idea when that will be or how far they're prepared to go. And the financial disparity argument doesn't stack up as their used to be unpaid Uni teams in the league as I said before. I haven't seen Lions putting 148 points on a team like Eagles did against Leeds a few seasons ago. They aren't sitting on huge cash reserves but they also aren't pissing away millions of pounds a year that they don't have either. Eagles and Riders are sustainable because they spend what they earn, through their numerous revenue streams via ticket sales, merch sales, sponsorship deals and second spend in their arenas. London's spending is way out of whack with what they can be earning and so are at the mercy of 777 pissing more money up the wall. Maybe why they haven't posted their well overdue accounts yet.

Their accounts will show that they have failed to comply with Euroleague Financial Fair Play requirements. What happens then? They get kicked out of EuroCup?

I do wonder if the, long, delay in filing accounts is due to the auditors refusing to sign them off, due the the non viability of the comapny as a "Going concern"?
I also wonder how many suppliers and other liabilities have not been paid on time.

I also wonder how many suppliers and other liabilities have not been paid on time. Accounts from 2 years ago where submitted on the 22nd Feb. Also noticed they have just had a change of Office address. So it could just be that they are a little late. Not unusual.

If that is the case, then as per previous seasons when other teams have breached the FFP, a fine, and in some cases the removal of victories.

Just as well because I'm sure Dubai Falcons won't be compliant either.

Going back to the original subject of this post... I feel Manchester will be ok. I would be surprised if we do not learn about investment this off season. Another season of Manchester being propped up by the league will not be great. Unfortunately I am struggling to see how Plymouth stay around. Which is sad as they have a great fan base. I just don't see it as an attractive investment. we have Bristol in the West, and with their plans for a new arena, I fill this ticks off that area of the map. I would love to see a franchise in Belfast, I feel that could be great for the League. The same with a Cardiff franchise. I would happily see either of these locations replace Plymouth. And then you of course have Birmingham. Probably one of the ideal locations for a new franchise. I really hope things work out, as if they do then in 5-10 years the league could be in an exceptional place. I feel like all Plymouth needs is their own venue and things would be pretty sweet there. I know that's a big ask, but I think it would be pretty silly for the BBL to turn its back on a town with an appetite for basketball. Other cities might seem more lucrative, but you're effectively starting from scratch.

Thats the problem with pats, Plymouth has several 'big clubs' and pats did their best to burn every bridge there was with them. Weve got teams competing on europe, players representing gb and England, and clubs with literally hundreds of participants. If pats were smart, at the start they would've jumped at all the help they were offered, but they knew best and now theyre on the brink of extinction

Don't know enough about the politics to know an answer, but a city that can generate a consistent crowd of 1,600 people can't be just dropped by the BBL.

They can be saved if a business case can made for building an indoor sports arena in Plymouth. It's not impossible but I don't know enough about the area to know what else it could be used for. I have a few ideas.

Wonder if the fact that Everton are in danger of being relegated has any effect on their ability to provide future profit projections?
