Eagles have just announced their pre season games as...
Sunday 3rd September home vs Derby Trailblazers @16:00pm.
Tuesday 5th September home vs USA Selected @19:30pm.
I know we're going to have some exciting games to come but for a preseason this feels very underwhelming.

Probably a result of BBL clubs being told to be ready (if the fixtures ever get published) to play competitive BBL games in mid- Sept, whilst w/e of 9-10 Sept is a non-starter for a game in Newcastle due to the Great North Run. And the previous weekend sees some pre-season tournaments on the continent which may explain no continental oppo.

The only drawback for Steutel with his new roster is that if he can't get the players to gel as a successful, winning team then he's got to be toast because the consensus so far seems to be that this bunch will sweep away most other opponents apart from, of course, £ions.

Certainly needs to be too 4. Leicester & Caledonia rosters also looking pretty strong to me.

predictions on talent this time of year are pretty meaningless.
People are always going to favour known quantities over unknown ones.

I agree, with this roster I'm expecting at least top 6 or even top 4 if it is as good as it is on paper. If we don't achieve that this season then I think it will be hard to defend why he should stay a 3rd season. But I like to be optimistic especially at this stage that after a heavy introductory season. This upcoming season I reckon he will make a big improvement. And one thing I will say is right now our team certainly seems to be dominating the talk right now. Last season everyone was hyping and talk all about London. Hopefully this season it will be our turn again.

It's a foregone conclusion unless their coach is an imbecile. So, the interest is in who'll come second or perhaps manage to win one of the cup competitions.

Yep, it’s a competition for 2nd place unless something goes very wrong at £ions.

In news that will suprise no one Mr 28 is back for season 20. I agree as I reckoned if he was retiring or leaving the Eagles he would have said so by now. Although I reckon this could be his last season. Finish on 20 seasons and play for the Eagles in Europe would be a good way to finish. And with this team I'm more confident we're going to have a much better season then the previous 2.

Can still do a very good job for the team, as shown last season.

One more import slot for Eagles to fill - if there’s any budget left!

One more import slot for Eagles to fill - if there’s any budget left! I've heard a couple of Podcasts say French had signed an 18 month contract so might be keeping that import slot open for when he's fit again. But I can't see that being any time soon

One more import slot for Eagles to fill - if there’s any budget left! I didn't think their wasn't an import rule anymore? But I do believe or suspect more signings to come. I'm surprised we have only retained Darius so far as I thought Mockford would also be back as well. I would also welcome French back but as already stated his injury probably makes it a challenge for him to return especially to begin with. I wouldn't have minded Hamlet, Gordon or Cohn back as well from last season. Although I suspect Hamlet would have gone on to play in a stronger league. The other 2 I thought maybe could return especailly Gordon since he has already left twice and came back. Given the fact we're planning to take on Europe and knowing that he is loved here by the team/fans I'd be surprised if he wasn't considering it so long as the Eagles organisation wanted him as well.

Eagles have signed (and I assume used their last import slot) to sign American wing Scott Spencer. After a somewhat underwhelming college career he played in Luxembourg last year although I can't find any stats. This guy's got flight home before Christmas written all over him but good luck to him.
