The only new face on their squad was Carrington who they recruited mid season and right before the Cup final because they lost Geno. Not nitpicking but Riders signed Carrington Love following the injury to Devonte Bandoo. Geno never played a game last season having departed in July. Devonte was a 'new face' last season as were Blake Bowman, CJ Jackson, Derryck Thornton and Aaron Menzies

Tuesday = Justin Thursday = Darius You heard it here first ! Whilst I expect Darius to be back the post on the Eagles page has 2 US flags so I don't see how that is hinting Darius. Justin Gordon it wouldn't suprise me to see him back. Considering the last 2 season he has returned at the mid time twice. Unless he is given a ridiculously good offer elsewhere I would expect he'd be Considering us or the BBL in order to stay grounded in one place this year.

Devonte was a 'new face' last season as were Blake Bowman, CJ Jackson, Derryck Thornton and Aaron Menzies To be honest I'm surprised I forgot about Menzies but I can't recall the other 2. I don't think CJ lasted that long with us. Probably less than 5 games. Maybe just the ill fated european campaign? I don't remember much of his style but I think he played on the same college team as Loving. I might be imaging it but I think he was recovering from a road accident when he arrived and that contributed to his downfall. Thornton looked good until everyone realised he couldn't shoot outside of 6 feet. Really quick, could finish at the rim and could distribute the ball well if you let him but his inability to shoot meant every pick and roll was easily read so he didn't last. I don't know much about the Croatian league but he finished the year there averaging 20 and 7 on nearly 30% 3 point shooting. Maybe their league isn't as good, or maybe he got a bit of confidence and shot well enough to keep people honest and play his game. Either way, he wasn't effective enough to play significant minutes for riders and so I can see how he was easily forgotten.

The only competitive game CJ played for Riders was the BCL qualifier. Thornton was on the bench (in street clothes) for our BBL opener away at Lions. There was definitely talk of CJ arriving with a pre-existing injury.
I'm guessing one of these Eagles' Americans will be the ex-Gladiator. Can't wait to find out who the other exciting new surprise is!

Ex-Rock Jordan Johnson. Backcourt looking absolutely stacked now. He averaged 18 and 8 on his season with rocks shooting 39% from 3 and was most recently in German BL2 where he averaged 16 and 3 shooting 44% from 3.

Another strong signing for us. I'll be amazed to see how Marc manages the minutes with so many strong players.

No doubt a top player when last in the BBL but Ive got some question marks about team make up / chemistry now. How does Marc share the minutes between 3 ball dominant guards? Will he play three 6ft guards together? That backcourt likely to be smallest in the league outside of Sheffield!

Well, I’d expect Eagles to be playing @ high temp game and for the three American guards to rotate regularly so that teams can’t just try to exhaust a single PG as has been the tactic when facing Fletcher & Cohn in recent seasons. Funnily enough nobody is asking how coachless L$ons will keep Taylor, Philip, Nelson, Soluade, Kaboza and goodness knows who else happy…..

Tbf everyone was asking that question when they were first announced last season. Then they realised playing in Europe required that sort of depth minimum and they soon went quiet 😂

6'5" ex Memphis Hustle G-League combo guard who comes from a breakout season in Denmark where he averaged 18.8 PTS 5.6 rebounds 3 assists and 1.8 steals on 37% 3pt shooting. Not lazy recruitment. I've got no idea how much of a step up (or not) the BBL is from Denmark but certainly looks promising, especially given the Cortez Edwards-esque rebounding stats.
That leaves Eagles with one import slot remaining. I'm figuring it's got to be a starting 4 (Justin Gordon returning?)

He played for svenborg ranbits who liam potter used to play for. Potter also played for Riders and before that raiders. He was the worst big ive ever seen in Plymouth for either franchise and theyve had sam kieta and theo something whos now in d3

Looks good and our first unknown signing to join us. If his resume is anything to go by then he should be a dominant force for us. Howay where are the critics who are going to now tell us this was a bad choice?

Howay where are the critics who are going to now tell us this was a bad choice? He’s obviously a rubbish choice. Unknown in the BBL. Only previous experience is in Finnish D2 and in Denmark (OK, ignoring a couple of g-league games), and a product of NCAA Div2 - goodness knows what the Eagles are thinking. All of the above could be true - who knows? But he will be surrounded by decent talent, has scored prodigiously at every level he’s played, was NCAA2 All-American coaches’ choice & did make it to the G-League, so could turn out to be an absolute gem too. Will be interesting to see - and not lazy recruitment at least!

Has anyone told Steutel Eagles are playing in Europe this year? Size looks an issue with the roster as its currently composed.
