The BBL investment is, almost certainly, done as a tax loss to be offset against profits from other investments to reduce the overall tax liability of the group. do not be fooled into thinking that 777 have anything but financial gains as their motivation. Part of a wider strategy or not, I think we all know 777's motivation is financial. And you can't criticism them for that, they're a business, not a charity. But that doesn't mean the BBL can't benefit from it too, the two things don't have to be exclusive.

Yanks and financial frauds are more than a notion. All this talk about them buying Everton is getting people to ask serious questions. My take in this…. 777 will be gone once people look into their finances (or lack of). However, they did do a great job with Lions!

Right or wrong, you seem to have your own agenda... you joined the forum a month ago and 6 of your 9 posts have been criticising 777. And one of your other posts said Sam Dekker, arguably one of the best players the BBL has ever seen, was an unwanted marginal European level player and a washed up American level player at best. It's starting to feel like the final days of Whats Bev.

I was sceptical of 777 and still don't agree with every move they make, but we need to realise the league would be in a MUCH worse position without them.
• No Plymouth and no Manchester.
• Still watching games on CCTV.
• Nowhere near the same social media or traditional media presence.
• No CEO to be held accountable.
We're just at the end of their first full season. From what's being said, they've got even bigger plans for next season. They aren't fucking about and have implemented real change.

They’ve got investments in a quite few companies to suggest they aren’t ‘dodgy’. Misguided maybe but you don’t have investments in numerous countries unless the money checks out

Maybe BBL won’t work out for them but it’s clear they have a lot of money to invest. BBL is a long shot. But so far so good. Lions have done very well expanding their social media presence. They are now the number one UK indoor sports team by number of Instagram followers. That’s not to say Lions are a bigger club than Belfast Giants, Cardiff Devils, Sheffield Steelers or Nottingham Panthers, just that they do have more Instagram followers.

Maybe some of you are too young to remember but just 13 years ago, a yank named Alan Stanford came on the scene. The rest is bad history. 777 ain’t Goldman Sachs, not even close. And convicted felons don’t run reputable investment firms, not even in the States. Watch « The Man Who Bought Cricket « on Sky. Cringeworthy.

That is the reason I didn’t watch cricket for more than a decade. He was obviously dodgy. But that has nothing to do with this.
