Surely signing Aaron Menzies a 7’3” centre who averaged 5.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 16 minutes per game in Spains second tier last year…. 💪 Is better than…. Mo Walker who is walking around in a moon boot and won’t score a single point for the rest of the season. 🥾
We know he’s not going to be first choice, but at least now we know we have a bit more back up.

Geez i wasn't suggesting comparing him while injured, i meant as he was this season.
I thought MBA would've been perfect

He will be a solid addition I reckon and it'll free Adekoya from playing centre. Watched a few videos and his game looks pretty decent as far as they go - obviously they show just highlights and not fuck-ups. We have the guards who can get the ball to him in low post and with his height he'll present problems for opponents. MBA? He's a bit of a loose cannon at times I think. Would he accept Rob's style of man management? Not sure about that. The coach has always wanted players who will get on well with teammates on and off court. Not saying MBA wouldn't be better than Menzies in some respects but I'm hoping the latter will be more consistent.

Good signing in my opinion, and a great coach/organisation for him to be with development wise as one of the younger guys we need to step up into the GB setup.

He'll fit in well with Riders, he's already very friendly with Pat Whelan apparently, and I think we might see some more good pick and rolls from Thornton.

Good signing. Played juniors with Pat Whelan, really nice bloke. Odd that it’s being called a downgrade when you’ve never seen him play but Oh well.

I’d take Menzies every time over MBA, he’ll be a huge (literally) match up problem in short bursts
His stats in Spain were better than Whelan’s, Although I’m pretty sure he’s not going to manage that in the BBL

First time I saw him play was last night for GB and I felt he didn't get long enough to play but then again alot of the new faces didn't even get on the court.
My initial reaction when I saw him was he looked tall and could be an effective big. Then this morning I was like damm it he's signed for Leicester so now I have to hate him. 🤣

I think he's trying to wind you up, Aaron may not be the finished article and his free throws need a lot of work, but, Russell said he was a "very exciting prospect" and I believe that's precisely what he is.

A key part of Riders sustained success, is building a team that is stronger than the individual parts.
You only have to look at London as an example of why a collection of individuals, regardless of ability, bit be beaten by a good team.

I am inclined to believe he will play a decent role in the team and Paternostro will definitely help him to improve as a player. The fact he's young is a big plus.

If he's weak on free throws that's the easiest aspect of a player's game to coach & improve.
