Final score London 80 - 93 Paris. Paris got progressively better as the game went on, and, well, London didn’t. Shocking 3PT% from London, just 13.6%.
All things considered, I’d still say tonight was a win for British basketball.

I am looking forward to going to this match. It will be interesting how good the atmosphere is, and how many French supporters are going. I will give my feedback if anyone is interested?

Atmosphere good, although would have been better if London got close. I did not hear any French supporters which surprised me. Seeing Decker perform the way he did was worth my ticket money. Hopefully any new supporters have seen enough to want to come back.

Seemed like some of Lions earlier Eurocup games, lots of easy looks inside but 3 point shot completely deserting then. Taylor getting more out of the bigs for sure, but at the same time when he plays they miss Nelson's scoring. Soko would have made a difference if he were available for sure. I do wonder if Lions will sign Patrick Whelan for next season, he would have been perfect to throw into the game last night. Can't think of many better British 3pt shooters at the moment.

Last night felt like the potential Vince identified for London finally happened at the Copper Box. That place is so different when it's sold out! It really has a great atmosphere when the upper tier is full and the crowd were really up for everything the game night experience offered.
One thing I like about the new London Lions is the way that they keep trying new things and pushing out the barriers. One of the funniest moments was when a security guard had to escort a young stage invader off the floor during the K-Trap performance at half time. Fundamentally it felt like a modern London entertainment experience that would have encouraged any first timers to return, irrespective of the result. Good to see so many families bringing their kids as well.
The Paris team were just faster and stronger on all levels but Lions never gave up. Dekker was awesome throughout, even playing through injury towards the end of the game.

Contrary to previous posts, I watched the game on BT Sport and none of the atmosphere came across on tv.
Seemed very quiet.
Couldn’t really tell how big crowd was but that might’ve had something to do with the lights turned way down on the spectator side so only court seemed illuminated. Don’t think I’ve ever liked this look but that’s just me.

It might not look like it at first glance, but it's quite a big game for London in the Euro Cup tonight.
London - currently 7th in the group (4-6), are away to Dolomiti Energia Trento - currently 9th in the group (2-8).
A win for London tonight would go quite a long way to securing a play-off spot as it would not only strengthen their position in the top 8 but also keep Trento planted in the bottom 2.
It's also the first time in the competition London face a team they've already beaten (80-75 last time). London have lost their last 3, Trento have lost their last 2. But they have won their last 2 home games.
Game is at 7pm. Coverage on BT Sport starts at 18:45.

London Lions win 84-70.
Fairly equal in the first half, but London the better team in the second half. Great performances once again by Dekker and Koufos.
And the good news doesn’t stop there, both Slask and Hamburg lost tonight, so London looking comfortable in 7th place.
Great to hear some loud London fans at the game too.

stayed off the phone so when got home last night could watch this as if live. Enjoyed it - great to see them make all the corrections period to period to then get the strong win. Good to see the camera show a few attending LDN fans as well.
as an aside, all those folk who ask how can this be financially sustainable for London - the Italians did not have much of a crowd in attendance so clearly crowds are not part of how many clubs at this level operate

But yes, it's been an observation of mine too how small the crowds are at most of these mid-week Euro Cup away games. Unfortunately that doesn't mean it's not a problem, it just means the problem isn't just a British one.

Today’s London Lions EuroCup game is at 7.30 at the Copper Box Arena.
Lions Lions vs Gran Canaria.
Gran Canaria is one of Europe’s top clubs. Gran Canaria beat London Lions 87-69 in Round 3 on 26th October 2022.

I'm really looking forward to this one, I've not got my hopes too high for the result but the bookies odds are a bit more favourable to the Lions than expected.
I've heard rumours that Oni and Ovie could be returning as well

I've heard rumours that Oni and Ovie could be returning as well I hope they can push them close. Decker and Koufos are playing so well. Oni and Ovie would help. Hopefully Lions will get off to a good start.

another tough night - but great to see them competing with the top teams. obviously the FT % hurt - but like the commentator called, not sure why they did not go for the 2pt play when still 40sec left
anyone understand why there was 4sec removed from the clock - AFTER coach had had his time out and set his play based on 20secs? You time your play differently with 20sec versus 16sec so that wont have helped things. I'd understand if time was added on cause they decide the clock did not stop when the foul occurred but to remove time implies they changed their mind on when the foul was (but 4sec???) or someone had stopped the clock in anticipation? Weird whatever it was and not good for the coach to let him plan the closeout, bring the players back on court then just change it all.

Very impressive performance by Lions, especially Decker and Koufos. Maybe a match fit Ovie would have made the difference. Or maybe the Lions guards just need more games like this to get more comfortable at this level; and sink more of their free throws. They need to find a way to start turning these close games into wins.

A shocking half for us, reasonable defence but struggling to score. I fear we're becoming the Sheffield of our EuroCup group the last few games and it's not fun to watch

Once you've made the play offs you only have to click as a team for four games to win it!
Lions could do that!
