Just seen Sam Dekker managed to make the all Eurocup second team squad.
Great achievement for him I suppose.
I wonder if Lions will be able to retain him for next season.👏

I think he is, but the Lions will need to get a lot more out of the squad or upgrade it if they are going to be able to compete even at the lowest levels of euroleague - the challenge is going to be able to get any /enough brits of sufficient quality. |

He seems happy in London... he's settled with his young family and has said he's always hated moving around all the time. I'm guessing he'd hate it even more now that he and his wife have a baby. The money is (supposedly) very good, and he's basically the star of the BBL. Hopefully all that's enough to make him re-sign for next season. |

If the euroleague rumour is true, is he good enough? I can't believe that's true (yet). Other than building London Lions profile across Europe there's basically no advantages (yet). Lets be honest, if you're building your profile in the UK most people wouldn't know the difference between competing in Euroleague, Euro Cup or FIBA Champions League. And, as has been implied, can you really buy yourself into Euroleague? Wasn't London's entry into the Euro Cup significantly helped by the fact they'd lost Russian teams and were desperate to make up some numbers? |

What great news When he came to play us 2 weeks ago he certainly looked happy to be there although bad news for the rest of league knowing we're going to be competing against him for another 3 years. Whilst I imagine he will be on big money I wonder if his contract have an exit clause like Geno if someone other big team perhaps even from the Turkish Airlines Euroleague comes knocking? |

I assume he's happy for the stability and well paid enough not to want to rock the boat. I doubt he'd tear up a 3 year contract with Lions for 9 months elsewhere. I'm a little surprised about Sharma, he's a beast in the BBL but never really seemed to cut it in Europe. Having said that British 7ft'ers don't exactly grow on trees. |

It could be that there isn't a team in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague that could match the wages 777 are paying him.
