Lions badly need Koufos. If he’s not playing I’m not watching. Koufos playing might have give us the little extra we needed to get an unexpected win. Nevertheless, it was a great performance by London, and a much closer game than I was expecting. I just hope Dekker’s injury in the final 5 seconds of the game isn’t serious. Also, it was an excellent atmosphere in the arena tonight. So much fun shouldn’t be allowed in a weeknight. A lot of loud Turkish fans too, which was great to see. I’m assuming most of them live in London, so hopefully any newcomers now have a London and Turkish team to support. If London can come within 5 points of beating the 2nd best team in the group then maybe, just maybe, they can do something amazing in the playoffs.

Turk Telecom are one of the top teams in Europe. Hopefully Koufos and Decker will both be fit for the playoffs. I decided to watch the BUCS final instead for something a bit different.

That’s something you can practice. Are they normally that bad? They’ve got the 3rd best FT% in the BBL this season. I’ve not looked at the Euro Cup stats. EDIT: London are 14th out of 20 in FT in the EuroCup. Ironically Türk Telecom are 20th out of 20.

Turk Telecom are top of the Turkish Super League, above Fenerbahce and Efes. To get so close without Koufos is amazing.

It's been really impressive to see the team improve through their Euro Cup journey. Great game last night and might even dare to dream what could happen in the playoffs!

Great win for the Lions, the Pride out in force drowning out the locals!
5/5 away day wins for me!

Lets be honest, London aren't going to win the Euro Cup, but based on recent performance I've got more confidence now than ever that the play-offs might be more than a one game affair for them. And that would be absolutely amazing.

Following the conclusion of the regular season last night, London Lions first round Play Off game is now known...
London Lions will play Joventut Badalona on Weds 12th April (although that date is officially TBC).
London finished 7th in Group B with a 8-10 (44.4%) record, whilst Joventut Badalona finished 2nd in Group A with a 13-5 (72.2%) record.

Finishing seventh and facing second place is probably too low to have a realistic chance of progressing any further. Still, it will be a fantastic occasion for the team and Lions’s travelling fans.

I didn't want to create a new thread for this, but Lions gaining a new principal partnership with StockX is great news, a well known brand which is completely in line with the image the Lions are trying to create.
We have been needing to gain large sponsors and this should hopefully generate a good amount of income for the Lions. I'm interpreting it as a potential jersey sponsor for the future.

I'll admit, I had to look up who/what StockX are (good to see London Lions already on their website!), and from what I can tell they're sort of a high end trendy eBay? But I do agree, the two brands do seem to compliment each other quite well. Maybe I can buy one of those new £350 London Lions jackets on their on the cheap?

I think it was back at the start of this thread where general consensus was a successful first season for London would be progressing beyond the regular season... so mission accomplished. Joventut Badalona will be a tough opponent. They're a good Spanish team, currently 6th in the ACB league, and (worryingly) higher than Gran Canaria who actually won Group B of the Euro Cup. Having said that, anything can happen in just a single game of basketball.

Lets be honest, London aren't going to win the Euro Cup. No, they have a great chance. They only have to win 4 games. On their day they can beat anybody in the competition!

I’d be ecstatic if London won the Euro Cup, but let’s be realistic, do you really think they’ve got ‘a great chance’ of winning the Euro Cup? I’m so happy they’ve made the playoffs, and I’d be thrilled if they survive to the next round, but let’s keep things in perspective!

Huge game tonight, I'm not expecting a win but I think we'll give it a good go. I'm glad Lions are hosting a watch party at the Hackney Bridge, there should be a good crowd in for that.
I watched the Hamburg vs Prometey game last night (who Lions would have faced if we were 8th), and Hamburg took it to the last few minutes, I think Lions could have won that matchup.

Is Koufous back yet? The match up with Tomic would be good for Koufous, worries if it's having to be on Sharma and Zubcic.
