This is all good news but if I had known this I probably wouldn’t have subscribed to Euroleague TV. I was hoping a proper broadcast deal was all set up and known about before the season started. Still, it’s better that I can watch it on Euroleague TV on my phone on demand.

With this Lions ownership I’ve learned never rush into buying anything, they always leave it last minute, cheap game tickets on the day all the time and obviously now this

Down by 13 at half time. Lions still very much in it though, only outscored 15-17 in Q2.
Tough game though, and Tel Aviv’s 3PT shooting has been incredible. Plus losing Dekker in the first few mins has been an awful blow.
I’d forgotten quite how passionate some European fans are!
Plus, I enjoyed the commentator mistakenly referring to Lions as London Towers a couple of times early on.
Winning this will be a challenge, but I’m really enjoying it.

Didn’t catch the second half but at least it wasn’t a proper blow out, really hope Dekker is ok
Think not replacing Tarik with an American guard with experience at this level was a mistake
Nelson been a huge disappointment so far
Roll on the next one where hopefully Lions can make a game of it

Lots to learn, but I’m not totally disheartened with that game.
We lost because of woeful 3PT scoring (against some very good 3PT scoring) and losing Dekker in the first few minutes. Scoring in Q2, Q3 and Q4 was relatively equal if you look at the breakdown.
Obviously not the start I would have liked, but I’m looking forward to what’s to come.

Dekker looked ok when he joined the team on court after the final buzzer, so I think, and hope, he’ll be back for the next game.

I’ve only watched the first half. I will watch the second half this evening. Very tentative start to the game. Koufos is really excellent and totally confident at this level. Soko is playing pretty well. Lions are absolutely at EuroCup level in the paint but not so good around the edge of the circle, shooting or defending. The defence is definitely something they can work on, but the Tel Aviv 3 point shooting is scary good. That’s not something we see in the BBL. Much closer to NBA 3 point shooting level than BBL level. I’m not sure what Lions can do to compete with that with the squad they’ve got. Having said that Lions’s offence has been pretty good, moving the ball around, creating space and getting 2 points. If they can defend better maybe they can win games without having a high 3 point percentage.

Assuming the Lions games will be available on their YouTube channel too (which I believe is the plan), this is great news. Having both Sky Sports and BT Sport as broadcast partners for basketball in the UK should really help grow the sport. Next weeks game will be live on BT Sport 1 - Tuesday 7:15pm-9:15pm, with highlights on BT Sport 3 the following night. |

I wonder if BT Sport will get presenters for this or just stream what's on Euroleague TV.
Last season there were some Euroleague games on Free Sports. I wonder if Premier Sports have any plans to broadcast Euroleague.

From what I've heard BT Sport are just going to take the world feed coverage of Lions EuroCup games, i.e. what's available on Euroleague.tv. Which, for Lions home games, is quite amusing given BT Sport HQ is right next to the Copper Box. There's no UK broadcaster for the Euroleague this season... yet. You'd have thought Premier Sports/FreeSports would have been the obvious UK home for the EuroCup given their previous relationship, but I'm not complaining as BT Sport has a larger viewership. |

Great win, so happy for them, especially with arguably the 2 best players out, thought sloppy turnovers were gonna lost the game but just managed to tough it out, I decided on going to the game against the Polish team as I thought that was the better chance of a win, hope I don’t end up regretting that decision ha

Wow, what a game. Ovie leading from the front but every player played his part. Having Lions’s two star players sidelined has given the other players the chance to step up, and they have done that. London Lions continue to surpass my expectations.
