I thought they were going to go with Premier League but Super League is just as good. Hopefully they can get a sponsor and be the Subway Super League or the Admiral Super League or something like that.

I think a lot of us will continue to refer to it as the BBL for quite a while though - old habits die hard! I think I was still calling it the Budweiser league 3 years after it wasn't

Remember this is an interim licence. SLB may end up being an interim brand, if long term investors decide it’s worth the legal wrangle to chase BBA.

What’s wrong with BBA, that would be perfect, NBA and UK BBA!’ See below from Hoopsfix on X which explains. Hoopsfix @hoopsfix · 2h We're told by multiple sources the league was planning on moving forward with the name British Basketball Association (BBA), until Ron Scott of Premier League Basketball (which rebranded from BBA in 2014) began threatening legal action.

haha so is Ron Scott still thinking he's going to get something off the ground here then? How long has it been now, 20 years?!

haha so is Ron Scott still thinking he's going to get something off the ground here then? How long has it been now, 20 years?! I've just been reading that Ron lost £3m of investors money with that project allegedly I wonder if donthatetheplayer knows Ron? Or if there was any link between Ron and the alleged 2019 investors that wanted to stay anonymous and never stumped the money up?

It's the strangest thing to read the tweets Going back to November 2010! Strange it is, but seems he's still around and with offices in London and working phone. Probably about all he has but if he is actually still going, I have to admire the tenacity. You can't beat someone who never gives up and all that.

Wont that all be so he doesn't have to give investor monies back though? Having a London office "address" and phoneline(s) is pretty easy and very cheap to create nowadays as well

Lest we forget, we were talking on this forum about how a convicted cocaine dealer was good for British Basketball.
