Westminster guaranteed promotion to d1 after last night's win, they're now 18-0 absolutely ridiculous!
Bristol win d3 SW too but they have a crazy squad, especially with sentance re joining them too

Worcester Wolves good at 12-1 after comfortable, (aside from a hit n miss Q3), 83-53 W over 2-9 Birmingham Mets.
Unless there's a really bizarre March then NBL3 Midlands Division title is a lock.
More important than that is going to be the 1-16 playoff seedings. The recent stumble against near-neighbours Stourport unfortunately means that the No.1seed, and possibly No.2 are out of reach.
Likely scenario is first n second round home matches then a difficult final four trip to St Helens.
Doesn't seem right that Disraeli Lufafeju has gone straight from being a reasonable BBL starter in Chester all the way down to the fourth level, so a semi win and going on to Belle Vie on the Finals day will be a big obstacle.

St Helen’s are stacked and way too good for div 3. As well as Dizzy they have Latinovic. They’ll be a strong D2 team next year IMO. Throw in Gosney who played d1 at Liverpool and Kestrels( not sure how many minutes he got there) Connor Murtagh has played pro abroad and D2 with Chester Uni. Miller was a good junior and benched for Phoenix before doing a year in the states. Goodacre likewise a good junior who won national title and benched at Nix. I believe their big was an English junior and the guard from Teeside is decent. I’m guessing Dizzy didn’t earn much in the bbl and it’s a short career so probably moving on from the pro ball dream. Credit the coach whose obviously sold his vision to the roster. They are a new men’s team so had to start in d3. They’re fun to watch.

Thanks for the info faz - I hadn't realized that there were all the other guys there with BBL/higher NBL experience.
Interesting explanation about the reason for such a stacked roster at this lower level. Any idea on crowd sizes - is that a part-reason for their formation or are they being funded by the Council ?
Will be even more incongruous if they are playing in front of one man n his dog, which has more often than not been the situation I have found on my travels to many venues this year with the NBL3 Wolves, in contrast to Wolves' home crowds which still go no lower than 300-400 and have once or twice been not far short of a thousand!.

It seems that both St Helens and Worcester would, eventually reach their proper level, probably in NBL D1. The bottom end of D1 this season appears to have three very weak, and uncompetitive sides, that are significantly behindthe club that is 4th from the bottom. www.basketballengland.co.uk/leagues/nbl/standings/Hopefully the sides promoted from D2 will be more cometitive and better run.

St Helen’s get maybe 150 but they don’t charge at the moment. I’m guessing the players have alternative income and pay subs. Not council funded to my knowledge. The coach works at Cartmel college so there may be favourable costs for training facilities but that’s just a guess.

NBL 1 table
It is likely that this weekends results will see Oaklands and Essex confirmed in the relegation places, with little hope of escape.

Two noteable results in NBL D1, so far, today. Loughboro Riders after playing in Newcastle, with a 7pm tip off, last night beat Leicester Warriors, with a 12 noon tip off, to ensure they wil be in NBL D1 next season. Meanwhile Solent have a 75, yes seventy five, point margin over Essex. That result drops Essex below Warriors in the league table, and means that it is probable that Oakland and Essex will be relegated.

I don't think so. Essex have the head to head vs Leicester, which puts them ahead as they're both on 3 wins. Meaning Leicester must win, they have Nottingham (5th) twice, Newcastle (7th) and Derby (4th). Essex and Oaklands play each other twice, which makes one or both of them very likely to go ahead of Leicester. Personally I'd put Oaklands last with Leicester 2nd to last. I can't see Leicester getting ahead of Essex.

Depends on the order of the tie breakers. currently, Essex have the inferior points difference.

The full regulation for an "Equality of Points" is below
"12 Equality of Points 12.1 In the event that two or more Teams have the same number of league points at the end of the Season, the positions of such Teams in the league shall be determined as follows: 12.1.1 Where two Teams are tied, the result(s) of the Match(es) between the two Teams involved shall determine the positions. 12.1.2 In the event that the total points scored and conceded are the same in the Matches between the two Teams, the positions will be determined by Goal Difference taking into account the results of all the Matches played National Basketball League Regulations Page 20 of 128"
Strange that it gives priority to the results of two games rather than the whole season performance.

Well I think it does make sense, you're trying to separate which is the better of two teams, the actual results between the 2 teams are the most relevant surely? Not whether one got stuffed by 90 points by Solent or they decided to go easy on them and only beat them by 30.
