I'll start weighing in on this thread shortly, but Mrs S is now telling me to get off the computer cos she wants her dinner (chilli and rice, followed by yoghurt and cake).
Outrageous that a man has to get a woman her dinner...

Sounds like a good meal Solly, what cake is it?
Anyone fancy Worthing to beat Solent?

My cake of choice this evening is to be Coffee Cake (infused with pecans), to be accompanied by several mugs of piping hot tea.
Worthing have their chance to get their oar into Solent's recent domination. When I watched John Hobbs coverage of Solent the other week it seemed that their new American guard was certainly not of the standard of the guy (can't remember his name) they had for a couple of seasons, making a big two for Solent alongside Travis Charles. More like one and one half in terms of Yanks for Solent his year

Ian Smith was amazing for Solent and I'd agree they are very slightly worse without him, they're still stacked though. Would love to see Worthing win this if only to shake up the Solent domination. Big games for Hemel away at Derby in the league and then TVC in the BBL trophy, the winner plays Glasgow rocks

I can't see Worthing winning tomorrow, but we'll give it our best shot no doubt. Advanced sales were very high apparently so probably going to be packed in there!

Worthing without Tom Ward who's a key guy for us. Not that it would probably have made a difference to the result, just maybe the margin.
Solent could put out two teams that would compete near the top of Div1. I am surprised that they have lost matches this year.

We seem to struggle to ever get a result against Solent for some reason. I didn't think we played badly actually, they were good, organised, quick and could shoot very well. We had a few silly turnovers but then so did they. Not quite sure that the margin was deserved, we had held our own in the first quarter, in the lead for parts of it. But the 2nd quarter they outscored us by about 25, in a single quarter! It was game over already by then. Still, a good enjoyable match somehow and a full house. Hope they all hd a good time.

Looking at the stats, we were 100% on free throws and last season they beat us 57-107, so a 59-104 loss is an improvement. Every cloud...

I hope you enjoyed the match yesterday Solentkestrelsfan75, was great to see the Thunderdome at full capacity again! As you say, we were without Tom Ward (and Jack Sunderland), but clearly they wouldn't have been able to turn that into a win. I haven't seen Lucien Christofis for a few weeks so looks like he moved on again quickly, was only around for a few weeks I think. Shame as he seemed a real decent player. Our title race ended when we lost at your place months ago in reality, it's been nice to sit on the top of the league for so long but it was always going to catch up with us unless we could win matches like yesterday's. Solent vs Thames Valley should be interesting and that's the real title race IMO. Not sure about Nottingham, they're going to be up there somewhere which will push us to at least 4th no doubt.

Looks like Christofis is now playing in Iceland. As you say, that's a blow, a younger guy that can really play. Worthing looks like a team that could do with some fresh legs... how many more years can Zaire, Crawford, Ebanks, even Ward and Fontaine, be relied upon? Although to be fair they are all showing they've all still got more than enough to compete at D1 level. Just maybe not against Solent.

Worcester Wolves update.
Now 10-0. Amended from 11-0 after Warwickshire Warriors withdrawal and the expunging of their record.
Did the home and away double over closest Div 3 Midlands Division rivals Wolverhampton recently.
Off to Nottm on Saturday and am hoping it is a better venue than some of the shockers I've had to experience this season.
Best venue so far was Derby, closely followed by Wolverhampton, playing out of Walsall (ex- Bham Panthers venue). Probably 200ish crowd in Walsall so that's good, but then again at freeman's entry it's a different story to species putting their hands in their pockets.

And speaking of Nottingham... Hoods-Team Newcastle will be our latest NBL Live offering tomorrow. Stream starts at 6:15pm (6:30pm tip). Should be a cracking encounter.

Not a lot of discussion in last week. Another full program of NBL / WNBL games this weekend. We move from Nottingham to Colchester for this week's NBL Live game, as Essex Rebels host Thames Valley Cavaliers at 5pm.

Numerous results yet to be posted from weekend games and I think 3 forfeits. EB still issue fines?
