NBL preview www.basketballengland.co.uk/news/2024/nbl1-preview-27-28-january-live-streams-stats-and-more/Tees Valley Mohawks mens team are finally back in action after various postponements but the guys are back in action and raring to go. Tees Valley Mohawks take on Calderdale Explorers which is always a great entertaining game. Coach Butler says “ We’ve had a lot of time to prepare for this, CP is back from injury, everyone else is fully fit which is great news. We haven’t played since November 25th so the guys can’t wait to get back into action and hopefully start a run to help us challenge for play off spot.” #proudtobeamohawk

Tees Valley Mohawks put in a solid team performance against Calderdale Explorers with a comfortable 82-60 victory. Jake Butler top scored with 18 well supported by CP on his return with 17 and Dan Kelsey 16 points. Coach Butler says “ It was a good team performance, we played rusty in parts but that’s the lack of playing recently but we did some really good stuff. The scoring was spread out as well as Niall had 10 and both Lewis Butler and Lewis Walker had 9 a piece, everyone got on the scoresheet so that’s always a good sign. I’m very pleased to get back to winning ways,” #proudtobeamohawk

Mixed weekend for Thunder, had the chance to win against Newcastle before going to overtime but the ball got wedged in between the basket and backboard with less than 1 second remaining on what would have been the winning shot. Lost badly in overtime though.

Tees Valley Mohawks super 7 took the win 97-91 against a very talented West Yorkshire Hawks team. West Yorkshire were on an undefeated run since signing a couple of Division 1 players but team basketball shone through tonight. CP hit a game high 29 points, well supported by Jake Butler, Dan Kelsey 21 each, Lewis Butler 15 and Niall Murphy 11 points. All five starters in double figure points. Coach Butler says “ the first half was one of the best team performances I’ve seen in my whole coaching career, to be up by 56-34 at half time against such a talented team just shows how good we played. So proud of the team, the journey home was very sweet, onto next weeknow and focus on another very difficult challenge against League Leaders Sheffield Sharks.”
Phenomenal team performance #proudtobeamohawk

The patent pending rating system is putting Derby well ahead of Essex despite them having the same number of wins/losses, let's see if it turns out to be an accurate predictor. Derby have the head to head over Essex now too so they only need to stay level, Essex need Derby to lose.

Lewis Butler earned MVP and top scored with 21 points well supported by Christian Prince 18, Jake Butler 16 and Niall Murphy 11pts. Not good weekends for Newcastle or Barking Abbey, who had won their first 2 matches of the season over the last 2 weekends but couldn't pick up a much needed win against rivals London Elite.

It looks like the relegation places are settled, barring a late season run from Baring or London elite.

It looks like the relegation places are settled, barring a late season run from Baring or London elite. Well I presume that only one will go down seeing as Solent pulled out, so the battle is still very much on, although London Elite getting the win this weekend pulling 1 win ahead and also getting the head to head result means that Barking need 2 more wins as an absolute minimum. From their last 7 matches, it's going to be tough for them.

Yeah if Reading hadn't lost this weekend to Birmingham (in 10th place!) then it'd be incredible, 1 loss separating top 4 teams.

Tees Valley Mohawks continue their unbeaten run in 2024 with a 81-76 victory over 2nd place Sheffield Elite. Niall Murphy and Dan Kelsey top scored with 18 points each well supported by Butler Brothers, Lewis 15 pts and Jake 14 points. All five starters scored double digits with CP getting 11 points whilst under the weather. Mohawks coach Steve Butler says “ today was a tough test that we passed, we seem to get 10-15 points up and switch off allowing teams back into the game, this has to stop but credit to the whole team that give everything and we got the result to keep our challenge alive.” Mohawks take on City of Leeds at home next Saturday hoping to keep their league / play off challenge alive. Tip off 3pm at Mbro college, it would be great to get a packed house. #proudtobeamohawk

Hoping to end our beaten run tomorrow! Playing Exeter who are much weaker this year after we stole their players in the summer

Found another bug, Reading Rocket's against points in their losses weren't being included so their points difference has looked much better than it is. Other than that, fairly straight forward weekend with the higher teams beating the lower ones.
