Tees Valley Mohawks put in a great display to beat City of Leeds 82-67. Mohawks American CP was missing due to injury, Travis, Liam and Lewis Walker all missing due to various others commitments so Mohawks U18 star Dan Poulter and Coach Butler kitted up to make up the squad. Mohawks dominated from the start with an incredible 29-11 first quarter, Leeds battled in the second quarter to reduce the lead but Mohawks comfortably kept them at arms reach throughout the game. Dan Kelsey earned MVP with a 23 points, 13 rebounds performance well supported by Jake Butler 21 and Lewis Butler 12 points. Another great team effort with Niall Murphy, Acho Anyigbo and Coach Butler all hitting 8 points each and special mention to Dan for 2 steals and 4 rebounds. Coach Butler says “ I’m So proud of the team today, to have so many players missing today and play a solid team performance was great. Another win closer to our goal.” #proudtobeamohawk

An interesting weekend, Hemel lost to Bradford, a loss for Reading Rockets and 2 losses for Loughborough Riders mixes things up a bit near the top. Thunder couldn't take advantage of Hoods losing to sneak into the playoff places, as they lost to Barking Abbey, bringing them level with London Elite, although still need at least another win to get above London as they have the head to head. Wins for Birmingham and Thames Valley bring them right into the pack chasing for that last playoff place. Should be competitive over the next month or so as the season winds down, the relegation spot, the final playoff place and the league title all still very much up for grabs!

I notice that worcester, ( now div 2) had a record nbl crowd of 1100 I can only wish that one day they are back in the bbl

It does amaze me how some NBL teams even in lower divisions, can get really good crowds while others literally have no one there at all, sometimes even in D1.

I notice that worcester, ( now div 2) had a record nbl crowd of 1100 I can only wish that one day they are back in the bbl I actually think that’s really good basketball in this country. Having big crowds in the lower levels shows the worth behind it. I believe that if 1100 was the standard for d2 Britain gets better at basketball as a result. We’ve had between 400-500 for our first season back in d3 which is brilliant, better when you realise there are 4 bbl/nbl clubs charging for tickets in the city

A surprise loss to Birmingham Rockets for Essex Rebels means that Derby will take the title as long as they don't lost 2 or more of their remaining 5 matches. Hemel are still in with a shot, if they beat Derby and Essex Rebels (who they play twice at the end of March) then they could do it, although they'd need Derby to lose another, maybe to Reading Rockets?

Hasn't there been a few incidents involving Plymouth fans lately?

Wasnt there but I hear the same player that caused issues in Manchester was the main culprit. Conveniently the camera ran out of battery when raiders asked for game footage to conduct an investigation though

Hasn't there been a few incidents involving Plymouth fans lately? Understatement there mate, there was a fan who stormed into the changing rooms to fight a player the other week in wnbl2!

Tees Valley Mohawks put in a dominant display with a 93-55 victory. Dan Kelsey top scored with 20 points well supported by Niall Murphy 19 points. Another three players got double digits points with Lewis Butler, CP, Acho Anyigbo all having 14 points with Jake hitting 9 points. Coach Butler says “ it was a great team performance again, we controlled the tempo, rebounded well and put in a solid performance. We will now look forward to Leeds LDM on Sunday.” #proudtobeamohawk

Tees Valley Mohawks beat league leaders Leeds LDM to 99.9% confirm runners up spot in the play offs. A shaky start from Mohawks and poor play saw the teams tie at 31-31, but a great second half performance saw Mohawks take control and never look back, Niall continued his fine form with 20 points well supported by MVP Dan Kelsey who had a triple double with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists.
All starters scored double digits again with Jake Butler 14, Lewis Butler and CP with 13 each. Coach Butler says “ I’m so proud of the players , we weren’t at our best first half but turned it on when we needed it most showing great character and resilience. Some great team basketball, another game where all 5 starters scored double digits which shows great ball movement and trust within each other, we’ve done our bit now it’s Leeds LDM to get three wins so the pressure is all on them, if they slip up once we will be champions.” #proudtobeamohawk

Good weekend for Hemel but they still need Derby to slip up elsewhere, twice! Rebels would need to beat Hemel twice and hope Derby slip up once. I think Derby have this one in the bag. Hemel beat them on the buzzer this weekend, but lose out on the head to head due to the point difference. If they'd beaten them by a few more then they'd only need Derby to slip up once and would've had a better chance. Barking still need that 1 win to avoid relegation (as long as London Elite don't win any others), I think Thunder are out of the playoff race, but Thames Valley & Nottingham could still make it for sure.
