Crandall has signed with a German BCL team since leaving Israel. His name comes up every time Riders have anything to announce but the reality is he's moved on to bigger things. Probably only one team in the BBL that could afford him now.

Gotta say this is the most depressing news since I turned up at the JSSC to discover we were effectively bankrupt and the game might not go ahead.

Well I'm not quite sure what to say to this.
Whilst I always hope we beat Riders this season I do hope their isn't any internal or underlying issues that is impacting the organisation.
I'm sort of suprised they have cut players but to be honest having seen the way the BBL has changed over the years.
Players coming and going throughout the season is certainly alot more common across all teams in the league.
The days where you would sign a team and you expect it to stay together throughout the year doesn't always happen now.
And from what I seen of the Riders they weren't bad players but they were definatley not as brilliant as the teams from the previous 2 seasons.
And they certainly lacked discipline as well with their trash talking on court too.
I imagine from Robs perspective to cut the players now if it's not working makes sense when you think about the Trophy coming up.
If you can a few good replacement players in then you have a month to get them embedded in the squad before the start of the Trophy Campaign.
And having read the article it does say more signings to be announced this which suggests fortunately they already have a player signed and ready to go.
Plus although cutting 3 players ain't great at least they haven't done an Eagles and Patriots and gone through 3 rosters worth of players in a season yet.
But if your Manchester Giants this week this is certainly a good weekend to play Leicester.

Find Russell a strange replacement for Asberry and Pinson. Can only think Rob plans to start Mackenzie at PG, which with the way he’s performing is a good idea. Russell got cut from his team in 2nd tier of German Basketball at the end of October. He was putting up decent numbers, although the team were on a losing streak.
