The sanction isn't about its not being preventable, it's there to stop other people doing the same. If your actions hurt the ones your supporting you're less likely to do it again.
Whatever the liquid was, i assumed beer but possibly water, if its thrown/poured at you its an attack. There's no rise in violence depending on what the liquid was. Change the scenario and put an elderly person or a young child in robs place, is it still just something that shouldn't happen again? No its still an assault.
It's very rare I'll back Riders but when it comes to something like this it requires serious consequences

Unless there's more to this than was discernible from the stream, calling what happened an 'attack' seems like quite a stretch. A guy in a hoodie appears from the right of the camera, walks over to the railing directly behind the Riders bench, throws/drops something on to Rob then legs it. Impossible to tell exactly what it was but a couple of half full plastic cups would seem likely, particularly given the wording in Patriots club statement. Rob's immediate reaction was to turn around and hold out his arms as if to say 'wtf'? Going to the ground was a bit of a delayed response and I think it's very unlikely he was seriously hurt. He stayed out there and coached the remainder of the game, did he not? None of this is intended to excuse the fan in question. He's an idiot who should be identified and banned from attending games, at Pavilions or elsewhere. But unless I'm completely wrong about what was thrown, his actions were more classless/pathetic than they were dangerous. Don't think the club should be penalised. It's true that this could easily happen at most, if not all BBL venues. I'm sure all Riders fans have walked within a few feet of the team benches on countless occasions at Morningside. And I'm sure many will have literally brushed shoulders with players/coaches/officials in corridors/lobby areas. Fans at BBL venues can get much closer to players/coaches/officials than they could easily do at say, a professional football game. And I don't think I've ever attended a BBL fixture where there have been strong security measures in place to protect these people from a potential idiot or two in the crowd. Seems unfair to punish Patriots for 'failing' in a way that probably every other club in the league is also failing. Are you suggesting Rob flopped? Lol

I'm sure that "Bigz" can provide the legal definition of assault, and the possible legal consequences.
There are also the financial concequenses for the club, and perpetrator, if the victim suffers serious or permanant injuries.

Think it’s beyond crazy to suggest Raiders should be punished for this

So the question is what are Leicester doing to guarantee the same thing can't happen in the return leg? Considering places like the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham palace have experienced security breaches in the past, it's going to be something very impressive for Morningside to guarantee with 100% certainty nothing will happen. We don’t need to do a great deal more at the Morningside…. After all we have the best defence in the league….So we should all be safe

Plymouth were ahead by 16 at one point so technically winning!
Zach won us that game 10 consecutive points in the 3rd after genos mouth threatened to hurt us. Showed our levels to pull that back on win the game.
Brilliant effort by Plymouth but the fouls ultimately cost them. Their fans were terrific
Can't remember last time that I saw 5 players foul out
Much happier with Glasgow than the bad match up against Bristol

Think some of the Plymouth away support had drank to much fizzy pop and ate to manny sweeties,
As the jumped up shouting were only three down now…….Talk about optimistic we were only about three minutes into the game.
Calm down boys your making yourself look silly.

Yeah Zach Jackson terrific. Properly took over the game. He won it for us. Like he did down at Bristol.
Fair play to Plymouth. Gave it a much better shot than I thought they would. Bound to make a run at some point but did not see them getting ahead on aggregate.
Riders ability to stay calm under pressure is massive. Both at the start and in the 3rd. Didn't panic. Kept playing their game. And came through. Even without the MVP. Haven't seen a ref so pleased to T someone up since Neil retired.
Loved the away support. Best turn out by an away team at the morningside in ages. Made for a good atmosphere.

Another game where Crandall allowed the opposition to rile him and get under his skin. Complained to the refs on every foul whether the refs whistled to call it on his opponent or him. Inevitably, he received a technical to force him out of the game with 15 minutes left and the tie was in the balance. Is he going to change or is this something we can expect to happen against Rocks too? Fortunately, Jackson showed how it should be done and turned the tie in our favour. He was battered every time he drove to the hoop but steadily got on with the job without histrionics. Drew fouls and scored freely in Q3.

Geno can’t seem to let it go with refs I don’t think Keith Williams helped the situation He basically blew up on nearly every play. Over 50 fouls called last night and once again it wasn’t a dirty game, The refs need to let the game flow better.

Did anyone else think the very last shot should have counted, It went up in time and it was definitely basket interference.
Or was it just another poor call by the refs.
