So in summary……it’s a bit like Manchester United who struggle to replace Alex Furguson…… Eagles are struggling to replace Fab…. That kind of talent comes along once every blue moon. I don't mind waiting. IRF, I stand by my point, if anyone can turn us around it is Paul Blake. Since that article we have continued to win trophies and have built an amazing Arena and community organization. Sam and Paul Blake built an amazing team and are responsible for that. The on court product part of that team is lacking at the moment and needs to improve. Whatever is needed to fix that I have faith it will be found. If it doesn't it matters not. Won't stop me supporting and I certainly will not leave early or worse boo the team. I'm sure he can and will And you are right to have faith in him after all he's achieved But to do the turnaround he has to realise/recognise they are further away than ever right now So whatever he's tried last 6 years hasn't worked He must know that better than any of us Realistically Eagles haven't even come close to winning the league during that time IMO Started seasons well at times. But then fell away as squad not deep enough the way I see it

Eagles League Table Standings
2016 2nd 2017 2nd 2018 3rd 2019 3rd 2020 5th 2021 4th 2022 8th (currently)
Steady decline
Unless you guys think Eagles are now a club happy to NOT compete for League title any more and just win other trophies?
That's a failure for Eagles IMO

The league wasn't strong with Newcastle winning everything. I'm sure Paul Blake prefers a challenge to win with the risk of failure than walking the league.
There's no prize money for winning, hes selling out his arena at profit every week. As a business man and as a business, Newcastle are far more successful than 10 years ago.
You're argument is valid for yourself as a fan (and all fans, no fan wanna second place) but I think youre off with what Paul Blake thinks.
Just to be clear, I am by no means saying he isn't trying to win everything

What a wind up. So in summary……it’s a bit like Manchester United who struggle to replace Alex Furguson…… Eagles are struggling to replace Fab…. Ferguson left Man Utd as that squad was splitting up and past its best Fab the exact same Ferguson reached a pinnacle twice and retired. Legend of the game. Fab built three all conquering teams AND THEN went on to the NBA. Fab is still building his legend. As I stated in another thread, talent like that comes along once every blue moon. Enjoy it while it lasts as nothing is forever.

I was going to post a meme to symbolise this but I think over the past 2 Friday threads we've just about said and speculated everything that has gone wrong for the Eagles this season. From steering at the helm, players underperformed and the rest of the league getting better.
Might as well say it will be Gregs running out of pasties next. At the end of the day when this season is said and done its going to be one the organisation will need to improve from and want to forget.
Although seeing how we have 4 consecutive Fridays worth of home games before the end of season playoffs hopefully we can build momentum and consistency going into the post season.

Just managed to bring myself to watching the game back on the Sky coverage. Didn't really reveal anything else I hadn't seen with my own eyes, other than it was more evident that those players just downed tools in the fourth quarter. DD looked absolutely sick of his life.
That was until the end when not even one person from the Eagles could be arsed to do an interview. Don't think I've seen that so far with the BBL Sky coverage. I remember earlier in the season Vince did a great interview after his team took a tough loss up here. Another sign of the lack of character in this Eagles team/coaching setup.

After the game only Darius Defoe and although he was playing for the Giants Will Saunders were the only ones who stuck around for autographs. Although having said that if I was a player and I'd been booed off court I to would want to get out the lime light as quickly as I can.

Nobody from the coaching team, there’s 3 to choose from, Drew lasker ready to interview, 🤦♂️
