Interesting Friday night of matches and looking forward to another close battle with Manchester again especially on Sky.
Will Dan Clark be back for this one? Us Eagles fans love giving him some stick against us.
Sheffield vs Bristol was a tight one last time and had an interesting end but I believe Bristol should over power the Sharks.
Glasgow vs Surrey will be an opportunity for Glasgow to get points on the board against an already doomed Surrey team and avoid being that 9th place finishing team.
And Cheshire vs Leicester will be a brilliant game for Cheshire to get some practice before the Trophy Final match up it would be great as well if Cheshire could get a win. Although I hope no one gets injured.

Poor Darius, dunks it, then Eagles get the ball back and he has to run on the fast break and dunk it again, he’s looks like he’s just done a marathon

Post mortem for Sharks on that last offence.14 seconds to go, 3 points down, pass up two open 3s to attack the basket (offensive foul)?? That's a new one on me

Conceding 110 points to Giants at home?

Conceding 110 points to Giants at home? They've conceded around 100 in just about every game this season. Some of the basic errors are just embarrassing for professional players.

Just got home from the Eagles game and once again I was appalled by how we played in the 2nd half. Probably our 2nd worst performance apart from that Christmas Bristol game and that's only because we at least did okay in the 1st half.
Considering this was a Giants team without Dan Clark and had been struggling vs an Eagles team with no injuries to current players we were abysmal! The only player who looked like he was trying to win for us was Justin Gordon tonight. Fletch clearly got bummed out the game with that Tech and Darius looked depleted by the end when he was knocked on his back.
The only good thing was we shared the ball and split the points but by the 3rd Quarter we went into headless chicken mode as the Giants played circles round us. Officials were pretty bad as well with some questionable calls but not even that would have saved us if we can't play D.
In the end credit to the Giants for the win. I know come the playoffs anything can happen but from what I have seen this season if even if we do make it. Then whoever we get is probably going wrap us in fish batter and throw us into the River Tyne!

Riders played pretty well tonight and still without Walker. Defence was solid and three point shooting improved from last game. Crandall not required for Q4. However, Sunday's game will be a big challenge.

I'm hoping he's recovered quicker than expected and is going to replace hapless Peel. Were desperate for a genuine big. Our shooters were all horrible tonight and with Fletch having a rare off night and looking absolutely gassed by the third after chasing Armstrong around it was always going to be a disaster.

Ultimately this just isn’t good enough from an Eagles team and changes are needed. The first time In the last 10 years or so that I have seen people leaving with 4 mins to go and the first time I have heard booing at the end.
Defence non- existent; offence erratic; and an unwillingness on the part of the coaching staff to change rotations or plays even if it isn’t working.

The bench point tally for Eagles is awful. Compare it with Giants'.

Do you think that the problem lies with the coach? Is he the thing that needs to be changed?

Following on from what I said about batter and fish. After that performance I feel like the playoffs we should all turn up as bottle of Vinegar and ask the playoffs be a 1 off match instead of 2 legs in order to euthanize this season early! In past seasons only 2 or 3 teams a season would be able to beat us then maybe the others at the end if we're resting players after winning the tittle. Last season only the Rocks and Nix had not beaten us in any match up. This season every team except Surrey Scorchers have managed to win at least one game over us. And considering they somehow beat Glasgow tonight and we have 1 more match with them to come I'm worried I may have just jinxed this. The fans leaving the building early is always sad to see and I was tempted to do the same in order to beat the car park rush but stayed until the end. Even Howard didn't do his usual "time to leave your seats 30 seconds before the end". Completely sums up how the entire building except the Giants were feeling.

Reaction to this result on Eagles social media not good My personal opinion is for many years now Eagles have been stuck in the past and nothing seems to have changed I shouldn't care really as this means Riders have one less rival to win the League each season But it really doesn't seem right that when we play Eagles now that we can actually anticipate comfortable easy games by and large And not improving over time is clearly showing more than ever now as teams with far less opportunities than Eagles have overtaken them Eagles only real progression in recent years is with the fantastic stadium And no doubt their community and junior basketball is still a huge success At first team level though Paul Blake needs to step up and shake things up somehowm. However, it seems to me that's been said for last 5 or 6 years now. I'm not convinced he actually knows what to do! Ps someone mentioned Howard above. Brilliant servant to the club. But in terms of match day presentation another example of being stuck in the past But we all know Paul Blake is incredibly loyal That's normally a great asset and something to be admired But is it loyalty or just plain lack of ideas or lack of plan for moving with the times? In the Eagles glory days there was very little needed to change each season and a pretty settled and reliable system that worked back then Helped by Brits on the roster that were high level import quality players. Fab, Defoe. Was Charles Smith also a naturalized Brit in the end? Can't remember? I feel Paul Blake is as much to blame for this as the coach or players surely as he leads the club and needs a strategy on court for the club to improve to match the obvious huge improvements Eagles have made off court A fresh new approach is clearly needed It's probably too easy to blame this all on the coach though? For example should the existing head coach actually be the assistant coach to somebody more skilled (if budget allows) And shouldn't Howard be taking a lesser role on match days (but definitely still involved) and someone younger and fresher be engaging with the crowd? Freshen things up a bit You don't necessarily need to remove people but support them with better people around them Eagles haven't just lost Fab. Theyve lost Dave F as well from first team duties Hell of a combination of experience for the existing coach to have to follow (I know Dave F stayed on to try and help for a while)

Im sure it could never ever happen
But can you imagine the power switch in BBL if Eagles had Rob Paternosto as coach for a few years?
And backed whatever he wanted to do on court
They would dominate the league again within 3 years max
Where's the next Rob Paternostro coming from?

What has happened to Brandon Preel… he’s gone from league MVP potential with Lions a couple of seasons ago to a very average player with Eagles. Admittedly last night was one of his better performances, but still, I honestly thought he’d be their saviour when they signed him mid-season.

He's stunk the place out since he came in and hasn't fit in at all. He's been an absolute passenger in just about every game this season and way below the standard of what he did in his first stint in the league. He looks so short on confidence it's hard to watch at times. A terrible signing that defines our season unfortunately.
