What has happened to Brandon Preel… he’s gone from league MVP potential with Lions a couple of seasons ago to a very average player with Eagles. Admittedly last night was one of his better performances, but still, I honestly thought he’d be their saviour when they signed him mid-season. Average is being kind. He's stunk the place out since he came in and hasn't fit in at all. He's been an absolute passenger in just about every game this season and way below the standard of what he did in his first stint in the league. He looks so short on confidence it's hard to watch at times. A terrible signing that defines our season unfortunately. But a valuable player at other clubs So is the player at fault or the club? How's Corey Johnson doing? I bet he must wish he was still with Riders I thought he was exactly the kind of player you needed to sign But he needs a system to believe and trust in just like every other player He was a great character and energy on court for us I thought Showed a lot of leadership qualities Is he another example of right player wrong club or wrong coach maybe? These players shouldn't lose their qualities overnight Is there a pattern here? Conner Washington another type of player you need at your club But something tells me he wouldn't be same player with Eagles either tbh

Don’t suppose this comes as a surprise to anybody but Riders are the first to clinch a playoff place
Once again defence won last night's game keeping a very talented Phoenix side to 59 points, Austin Jr was the one shining star on the Roster, thought Dickerson was dreadful all round, That free throw shot of his makes Shaq look brilliant from the line,
As for Riders as all round superb performance, Topped of for me by Jubril just for his defensive display.
Remember defence wins championships

Remember defence wins championships Watched Rob's post match interview He suggested offence was just ok from us He said before the game he talked about Eric Robertson with the players And asked them to go out and play with energy, emotion and passion But most of all to ENJOY every minute of the game because that's what Eric did every minute on and off the court Nice message

The bench point tally for Eagles is awful. Compare it with Giants'. Whole team was awful except Justin Gordon

Ultimately this just isn’t good enough from an Eagles team and changes are needed. The first time In the last 10 years or so that I have seen people leaving with 4 mins to go and the first time I have heard booing at the end. Defence non- existent; offence erratic; and an unwillingness on the part of the coaching staff to change rotations or plays even if it isn’t working. Do you think that the problem lies with the coach? Is he the thing that needs to be changed? It’s not working out that’s for sure

Think its a huge job for him. But he's a good guy. He's not going to be the one to re-invent Eagles on his own though (which is what they need) That's a huge job for any coach Maybe Vince could inject some new ideas into Eagles in some kind of consultancy role there - I'm not suggesting head coach by the way (Although you never know with him how things pan out) He was able to compete and win the league at Lions without having Robs coaching nous Hes got lots of contacts I would fear Eagles a bit more if he was pulling some strings up there I realise it's a bit of a random idea But things are pretty low up there right now Tell him the budget and ask him to recruit a squad to challenge for the league

A valuable player at another club, a couple of years ago though. So yeah, maybe it’s the coach/club, but also maybe his game isn’t what it was two or three years ago.

To be honest in most match ups last year we had Leicester Riders number as we beat them in the Cup Semi, Playoff Semi finals and at least once in the league.
We were kings of the BBL once and will be again in a way one day their could come a day when the same happens at Leicester as well.
I could see Paul Blake and Dave F up in the rafters last night and surely they must be thinking a big shake up needs to come in the off season especially if they keep Macleod as well.
The only thing I disagree with IRF on was getting rid of Howard. We do have Dan Black around as the younger talent but I think Howard does a fine job except when he picks the wrong moment to make an announcement like when Sweet Caroline was playing.
By the way I was looking over at the Achara and Nat from Sky watching a TV monitor yet their was 4 empty seats in the front hospitality row. I wonder why they were sat watching a TV screen of the game when they could have viewed centre court.

He's 27 years old Should be in his prime now? SHOULD be. But that’s not always the case… take another former Lions player, Jordan Spencer. He had such great potential during his first stint with Lions, and then he left and it was all downhill from there. And age-wise he’s certainly not at the end of his career either.

I’m not sure why, but when the Sky Sports team are in the Copper Box they also sit tucked away in the corner of the arena during the game.

Manchester have some Really talented players Armstrong and Artison in particular hugely impressive, far 2 good for eagles and all without Dan Clark, looking good for them for the playoffs , says it all that coach Mac Didn’t want to speak to sky Sports 🤦♂️

Drew lasker nailed it on the analysis saying you Need somebody like him (let’s be fair) to do the little Things, rebound? Hustle, steals, eagles don’t have that anymore

Is Eagles roster all that great? Are they actually underperforming significantly? Most teams have the athleticism to match up with Fletch in the backcourt now and he's the only starting point guard in the league without a reliable three point shot. His consistency over the years has been superhuman but he can't do eveything on his own every week. The lack of a big other than Darius is an absolute killer and takes away space for the perimeter shooters. Justin Gordon is one of the best 4s in the league but a great 4 can't make up for being average in every other position.

Conner Washington another type of player you need at your club But something tells me he wouldn't be same player with Eagles either tbh On Peel, as with anything it's probably a combination of coaching and the player himself. When he first joined he was bricking mid range jump shots to the point where teams were quite happy for him to take that shot. That all of a sudden clogs everything up for the rest of the team. I thought it was just a case of settling in but it hasn't improved at all. Looking at his body language he is devoid of any sort of confidence at all. With Johnson, he's obviously talented but I haven't seen any sort of leadership qualities in him that you mention. He goes missing in games and just sort of seems to run around at times. It's not surprising, I would expect anyone to thrive at Riders compared with us at the moment. A huge rethink in the summer is needed, the policy of cherry picking players from other BBL teams isn't working (Cortez apart).
