Thing is, I read that TNT in America have matched Amazon's offer and therefore ARE continuing with their coverage, because I was pleased to see that Inside the NBA has been saved and will be back (as TNT here show that). So I dunno, is Mark Woods wrong on that one? It may be that TNT for the UK has a different contract and that's being dropped.
I'm also surprised at Sky committing to an 11 year deal, that seems much longer than most TV deals normally run for?

See below from Cheshire on X/Twitter, they are expecting 19 home games if my maths is correct. So that is more positive news, despite not knowing how the games are made up between League/Cup etc x.com/CheshireNix

NBA is making a big commitment to basketball in the UK as part of their international expansion. However, that won't be including British pro basketball but more grassroots. The 11 year deal just coincides with the NBC deal in America. I'd watch out to see if Amazon in the UK is included.

This sounds very positive for basketball in the UK. I wonder if TNT Sports will have any basketball. They could have Euroleague but that usually clashes with UEFA Champions League on a week night.

TNT will be taking the NBA to court.
They say they have matched amazons offer but the NBA says they didn’t.
the NBA has always paid lipservice to grassroots basketball. It’s just not part of their business model

It’s just not part of their business model NBA doesn't need to worry about grassroots in USA where basketball is really popular. Here, we need any help we can get.

End of August?? So basically they are nowhere as this announcement says nothing. Not even a league name? That can be that hard. Shambles.

End of August for start of the competition I believe "It is expected that the new league name will be announced in the coming days and that will be followed by some exciting news on how the league will operate and commercial partnerships as soon as the details are completed."

"Everyone should rest assured that the criteria includes payment of all basketball-related suppliers, players and employees of the club, relinquishing the exclusivity of the London franchise, firm commitment to the women’s professional team alongside commitment to boys’ and girls’ academies." That suggests it's the business AND debts that are being purchased?

At least we have continued the same form of releasing horrendous logos.
Surrey's new one is almost as bad as riders and looks just as copied as plymouths
