London to win.
And in the women's game... London to win.

I predict Nix vs Lions with Nix to defeat Lions and Aaron Rai for MVP. As for the womens game which I don't care as much for probably Lions to do their usual blowout and win that one.

London today did enough and no more, if they repeat that against Cheshire, Cheshire will win. Personally I am expecting them to be much better, so I will say London to win.

Shame Nix don't have Chargois because he's a force alright. Really would like Cheshire to beat Lions. I'll be rooting for them. Can they perform as well again after such a short recovery period?

Well I was right about my match up prediction. Just got to hope I'm right about the result. I get the impression everyone apart from Lions fans will be routing for Cheshire tommorow. After seeing both games today though I think experience is going to favour the Lions. I think if we learnt anything from their win against Gladiators its that should Nix get an early lead then they will need to be able to keep it and not let Lions get back in it. Given how Nix allowed Riders to get back into the game at the end of that match they allowed that to happen but made the right play to retake the lead at the death. Whilst Lions are clearly the favourites to win this one I think if any team on the BBL are good at being underdogs I would say Cheshire. And whilst Lions are on a tight schedule will they be able to play 2 tough games back to back? Plus last time these teams met in a final they did manage to upset the Lions and beat them for the Trophy in 2022. And are now finalists for the 3rd year in a row here. In a one off game it can be anyones though however as a neutral I just hope for a good game!

London managed to beat Glads pretty comfortably in the end despite having a complete mare from 3. If that continues tomorrow Nix have half a chance perhaps, but still predict a comfortable London win.

London have the advantage of a fresh set of legs for the final - decent add in Nwaba

London have the advantage of a fresh set of legs for the final - decent add in Nwaba That’s a very good point, I was a little surprised he wasn’t playing yesterday, and then surprised again when they said he would play today. If that wasn’t announced so quickly after the game I’d have said it was a result of them being well and truly shell-shocked by yesterday’s game. I think London will have learnt a lesson yesterday, so I’m expecting a close game but ultimately a London win. Meanwhile in the WBBL final I’m expecting London to completely blow out Essex unfortunately (because I don’t think that does the women’s game any good whatsoever).

Women’s good a forgone Conclusion, just boring Essex down by only 13 at HT. I mean, obviously London are going to win, but Essex have done better than I thought/feared.

London win by 16 points. Never in doubt, but credit to Essex for making it a closer game than we probably all thought it would be.

Just wondering what the crowd levels will be like today, The Nix will fill their section loud and proud but in reality there were only a handful of Lions faithful. Riders faithful filled the bottom of their section but how many will return today, I don’t know of many that are returning so that section could be pretty empty, not good for the cameras. They can’t resell the tickets as most of us brought a weekend ticket.
Also if Riders had have made the final we had tickets for the same section so which team would have got that bench. There would be one team with all the support from both sets of fans behind the bench and pretty empty the other end. Same as if the Gladiators had won. Dont think the league had thought that out.
I for one don’t like the idea of a semifinal & final weekend, as I now have no interest in attending a game which has no interest to me. I’m more than happy to watch it on the telly. I would prefer a home and away or best of 3 semi final and leave the big final for a one off day.
Hope both sets of fans enjoy their day, just hope there is enough of them to bring a great atmosphere.

Regarding London fans, the link to buy tickets in the London fan section wasn’t released until last minute (a repeat of what they did with the play-off final last season), so there’s a lot of London fans sitting elsewhere in the arena as a result.

Brave performance from the Nix although after having the momentum early on it seems like towards the end of the 2nd Quarter Lions were beginning to pull away.
Still plenty of time left to go and after seeing Gladiators ahead by 15 only to blow it at the end I do think this might help the Nix avoid complacency or just playing to hang on.
As for Nwaba why on earth are Lions playing a player who is struggling with injury when they have all the depth and quality at their disposal. At the start of the game I actually didn't think he was really injured until that slip up dunk.
As for the officials not terrible but I swear earlier on they missed a travel on Grantham when he jumped with the ball. Although theirs to much moaning from the usual suspect Olasni and Nelson.
So far not a bad game although this is like watching team USA with NBA players vs most other countries with only 2 or 3 NBA quality players. I suspect Nix similar to us against Riders last week might lose this towards the end of the 3rd Quarter.
The arena looks much more well attended today although the Nix fans wearing orange and London wearing orange is a little confusing. And I'm glad I'm not there for the chuffing kiss cam. I always find those things awkward to watch.
49-45 all to play for but atleast Nix are still in it.

3rd Quarter 67-60 to Nix and London losing their discipline. Starting to look like the Riders team from the start of the season. All trash talk and moaning but crappy play.
Hope Nix can somehow pull it off but suspect Lions will get out of jail!

One thing has really stood out this weekend… and unfortunately it is how poor the officiating is in the BBL.There is a huge need for a review system.

Cheshire very worthy winners. Have been exceptional all the way through the Trophy. London way off it all weekend. They were lucky to get through yesterday’s semi.
