I was reminded of an old song I heard years ago funnily enough, reading this, that WWE used at one of their events. The lyrics seem pretty apt!

We're reaching the stage where someone, anyone attached to the BBL, forget 777 theyre toast, has to step up to the plate and actually start talking to fans. People wonder why basketball here isn't taken seriously and this is proving exactly why. It all feels a bit mickey mouse. Zero communication, a significant amount of public noise about the state of the finances, very poor to non existent governance across a number of the clubs under the 777/BBL banner and all the key players have gone missing in action. Lions as an organisation appear to have vanished across all outlets. The army of content staff brought in at huge cost to drive all things Lions - have they gone? Radin has gone to ground, and while we all appreciate it's the summer, the silence is deafening. By mid june in recent years, teams would be selling season tickets, making signings, announcing pre season plans. What has happened to this league? ? It has become a massive shambles. The fans expectations have been lowered to a rock bottom position where mediocrity and poor management, no leadership and p*ss poor communication is now considered the norm and almost accepted. Get a grip andf give the fans our league back. The entire elite level game in this country has gone to seed. Fix it, apologise, those who have presided and encouraged this absolute mess need to step down immediately and let good, competent people lead the way forward.

Fix it, apologise, those who have presided and encouraged this absolute mess need to step down immediately and let good, competent people lead the way forward. Some problems with the above (in no particular order) There's not a queue of competent/good people lining up to come and work in British Basketball? Even if there was - there's no money to pay them to do it (the opposite in fact)? There are some competent/good people involved in the game who are nothing to do with 777 but at this stage will still be leaning the true extent of financial problems that 777 will be leaving behind them for the clubs they were involved in and the league they have left behind The problems and financial fallout from 777 effectively becoming bankrupt overnight are so severe I actually pity anybody left behind trying to pick up the pieces Within that group left behind by 777 are most of the competent good people who have been prepared to put their lives into British Basketball to date There may be other good competent people currently outside the game who could help in the future. But where's the money coming from for that to happen? The post season break won't be long enough for this to all unravel Maybe baketball needs a year off to pick up the pieces and recover? Or maybe a temporary new league with a new name for a season with the non 777 owned/financed clubs Whilst the dust settles and we see whats left and what can be recovered? If that's legally possible at this stage? Ps fwiw Riders ARE promoting season tickets

I expect this uncertainty is going to start impacting all teams very soon. I can't imagine many season tickets are being sold, and players will no doubt be looking for their next contract, overseas. Coaches too. So no income, and a decreasing pool of potential players, which will almost certainly mean no games on Sky Sports. Next season will be 2 steps back. Let's hope the remaining 7 clubs can survive it.

I imagine all the 777 club venues are owed significant money by 777?
Plus the finals venues BBL use?
Not the best starting point for planning next seasons schedule

The latest Below the Rim podcast is worth a listen - interview with journalist Paul Brown. Said no one ever Amen to this. As much as Paul Brown is a good journalist and has done very good work picking 777 apart, I couldn't be doing with the btr who love a race to the bottom like pigs in sh*t because the leagues in ruin. They're painful at the best of times

Honest question. My payment is due for my Phoenix season ticket, would you guys pay it or not? I wouldn't be in a hurry to And absolutely no disrespect to Phoenix If you do want to spend money maybe pay by credit card so you can do a charge back if needed I'm sure Nix will be playing basketball in some format though Might not be in BBL as we know it though

Honest question. My payment is due for my Phoenix season ticket, would you guys pay it or not? If you are getting a discount for renewing early, I'd go ahead. Maybe pay with a credit card for added safety. The league, and Phoenix, will still be around.
