I'm expecting more misery for the Riders against London. The other 2 games though I would say Gladiators to win and in the other game difficult to call but I'm going to say Nix on that one.

We don't have enough on the roster to beat Lions. We have now added Teddy Allen AKA Teddy Buckets to the roster.

Doubt he'll play much this weekend but it's a positive addition. Had hoped we'd secure a centre but he is 6' 6" tall so he does have height for a guard. Good news at last.

I wouldn't expect us to bring in a centre before Mo breaks down. I feel like we've settled into Idowu being the back-up centre rather than a 4 so don't see where the minutes would come from. We are a bit light in the front court though so I could see another 3/4 coming in that could split minutes with Thomas.

Teddy buckets!! He's definitely a guard and a ball hungry one at that. Interesting to see how he gets on with coach Rob as he got through a fair few coaches in college. Another mountaineer alumni in the league!

More wing than guard I think. Plan's probably to start him at the 3.
Not exactly the experienced sure thing I imagined we were looking for but a pretty sparkling resume nonetheless. 16 and 5 as a Junior in the Big Ten. WAC player of the year as a Senior. Video game numbers in Canada. Looks like a guy with plenty of talent and a pretty high ceiling. Of course you've heard this kind of shite from me before and here we are 7th in the table having just cut three players. So I won't be going out on a limb with this one.
Doesn't exactly look like the kind of player who's just going to quietly slot in to a new team and perform whatever role's asked of him. Seems more like the type who's going to come in all guns blazing and either make this team his own or die trying. Don't know for sure how well that will sit with the guys who've been here from the start (or longer in some cases). But fingers crossed he fits in well because if he's as good as the bit of paper suggests we could have a serious player on our hands.

Rob's usually very cautious about playing new additions to the roster until they've trained fairly extensively with the team. On the other hand, he put Russell on for both games soon after he was recruited and, tbh, we have nothing to lose against Lions because we're expected to be defeated. I would love to see him on court but that's because I'm hungry for a win. Keeping him on the bench may may more sense rather than throwing him in at the deep end so soon.

Looking forward to the Sharks v Nix game. My head says Cheshire to win but it could be a very tasty match up.

Good opportunity for Rob to give buckets some minutes in a game we are probably certain to lose

Riders awaiting paperwork to clear Allen for playing so no debut today - instead they expect him to suit up against Glasgow.

Didn't expect Sharks to be battered.

All fairly predictable so far at the Copperbox. Riders held to 32 in the first half. Depressing.

Utterly crushed. Whole team looked dejected. Only way is up from here.

Game was lost in the first quarter - Nix outclassed the Sharks. They had the best players on court in Rideaux and Chargois and they played much better as a team - credit coach of the month. Most disappointing aspect for me was letting the lead balloon from 7 to 19 points in the final five minutes - could prove decisive in a head to head situation. Clearly some teething pains in juggling a roster of 11 fit players, which is to be expected. Always subjective, but I thought some players were over played tonight, while others didn't seem to get chance to warm into the game

Still struggling to understand the signing of Russell by Riders. He’s got to be 3rd choice PG, after Mackenzie and Washington? Although Rob seems reluctant to play Washington this season.
Can’t help but feel Riders are still unbalanced this season. Recruitment very poor and un Rob like.
New signing looks good but unsure how he slots in, maybe at 3? Thomas at 4 and Idowu or Walker at the 5? Mackenzie at 1 and Holmes at 2??? On paper a strong 5 but be interesting to see how Rob works it.

I reckon he might be finding his feet a little bit if he has only played a couple of games. I imagine at this stage Rob is probably using this point in the season to get his team warmed up and ready for a run in the Trophy.
