Geno should be able to do better than Riders and Gladiators if he's patient. He's coming off a 6th man of the year type season in Germany. Is this an actual genuine rumour or just a few random fans with no inside info hoping he might return now he's left Israel? Great as it would be to have him back, ball handling/creativity is hardly what's missing from this Riders team. I don't feel there's an urgent need for any change of personnel but if we need anything, I'd have thought it would be a big guy who can rebound and defend. Bridges has been near enough unstoppable offensively. He's gone 23-26 from the field so far and they haven't all been layups. But I wouldn't say he particularly excels in other areas. Glads are playing at a higher level in Europe than the Israeli team he signed for, from that perspective it wouldn't be a step down. |

To be honest if we can sign Geno back to the League then maybe it shows the league is doing well to attract top level players to the league. And it aligns with their vision of trying to make the BBL the 2nd best league to the NBA. |

Surely if Crandall was to be hired we would have to cut one of our other guards? Geno'd be expensive so maybe even two players. Maybe Rob’s worried about having a guard problem the same as last year…. So he’s playing safe and getting a few spares in Not that I believe that this may happen, but we only employ five imports currently, so adding a sixth would not be a problem, except financially. |

Tbh given how I think we could do with another 3 point shooter love to see Geno on this team. Although I'd be very suprised if he ended up signing for us. Doubt it would happen though although their have been players over the years like the Williams brothers who I never thought I'd see in an Eagles jersey until one day I did. |

Mentioning Geno in the same breath as the Williams brothers should be an automatic one week ban in my opinion. Totally unacceptable behaviour. Almost as bad as the shit that used to happen on Bev. A podcaster whimsically pointing out that Geno is now a FA and Riders have a spare import slot isn't really a rumour in my view. Bristol have a spare slot too. Perhaps he'll go there? Or Sheffield? Standard-wise, I don't think the difference between FEC and ENBL is all that big. Wloclawek won both in consecutive years and there have been sides that have played in the two competitions simultaneously and been pretty competitive. The main differences are the numbers of teams involved and the length of the format. Along with the fact that FEC has some sort of semi-scientific qualifying procedure and ENBL clearly doesn't. I'm confident Hapoel Be'er Sheva were going to be quite a lot better than Caledonia this season. In addition to Geno they had two Americans who have scuffed about on the fringes of the NBA. I suspect they'd have been among the favourites to win the ENBL. And the Israeli league is comfortably stronger than the BBL, at least under normal circumstances. If Caledonia can afford to make him a worthwhile offer, why not. As much as I hate to say it, they'd seem like a more attractive option than us right now. And he's probably more what they need than what we need. But if I'm him, I think I'd rather hold out for an offer from Germany or some other top ten league than dive straight back in to the BBL. |
