Unless you are "lucky" enough to owned by someone/investment group with a whole lot of money to spend on the team.

Again I wouldn’t even call that luck… If any team in the league was going to get significant investment it would be the team based in the capital city, with the biggest growth potential. Still baffles me that the Turks invested money into Plymouth

Those Man City/ Newcastle United (and many other) owners must have got it all wrong - or maybe they’re just trying to level up! 🤔

I seem to have caused a stir by calling Lions lucky. Honestly, it’s a blessing, and not a curse. It enables you to dodge bullets when you don’t really deserve it.
Just re-watch the last minute of the Manchester game and tell me that wasn’t a fluke. Yes, London hustled and hit (most) of their shots when they finally switched it on for the last 60 secs, but how likely is it that ANY opposition will (a) take and miss a completely unprofessional 3-ball early in the shot clock when 7/8 ahead with 40-odd seconds left, (b) miss 2 free throws (and Anderson at that), (c) fail to call time-out until too late and (d) decline a straightforward opportunity to trap JT that would have denied him the last second shot that tied the game. I assume that was all down to Lions’ skill, talent, presence, tactics……?

Having said that, I’m surprised no one had shown serious interest in Manchester yet. Although I’ve heard rumours of 777 Partners being involved in the league being seen as negative by at least one potentially interested party.

If the BBL really is days away from administration, anyone interested in owning professional basketball team in Britain would probably be keeping quiet and waiting for that to happen, then buy it from the administrators. If 777 Partners are legit and they're really going to buy Everton FC then it makes sense for them to reform the Everton BBL team.

Jheeze 😂

One thing Manchester lack is a high level controlled point guard?? And it showed. London’s on the other hand probably have the best in the league in Jordan Taylor?? It’s not rocket science.

London well beaten. I like the idea of a London Paris rivalry but the reality is Paris are already a Euroleague standard team and I think next season they'll be in Euroleague. London are a very good EuroCup team but Paris are on another level.

Tough night for London. They are going to need a deeper bench to compete with teams like Paris. Would hate to think what their budget is!
London were in the game and competing well. Had it back to a 3 point game and unfortunately Dekker looked like he’s done his ankle badly again. He was in tears on the sidelines before limping off to the changing room. Hope it isn’t as bad as before for him, but from his reaction it seemed to be. Matt Morgan also landing bad on his ankle late on. London really missing Grantham, not looked the same since he got injured.
Be interesting to see if they look to make some signings for the run in to the playoffs. January would be a good time with the Trophy games being played.
Paris are already a Euroleague level team. Their recruitment over the summer was interesting. Signed the Coach of Bonn Basketball, who last year won the Champions League, then proceeded to sign all of Bonn’s best players… 5 in total I believe!! Including TJ Short, Malcolm etc.
Hifi is an exceptional talent. Gives me Trae Young vibes and would be surprised if he didn’t get a shot in the NBA

London are a very good EuroCup team but Paris are on another level. Paris already secured a place for Euroleague next season and will be participating. London could be next year also but I’d have thought the following year would be more realistic. Euroleague have openly discussed wanting teams from Paris and London in the league.

Really hope Dekker's injury was not as bad as it looked. Lions did well to stay with Paris for most of the first half but the level of Paris was relentlessly good as they pulled away in Q3.

There's a lot of similarities between London Lions and Paris Basketball... but if you're able to get Adidas onboard as a commercial partner you're going to find the road to success somewhat easier. And that's not a criticism, Paris Basketball's plans for their new 'Adidas Arena' sound incredible, well done to them.

Big game today 'away' at Tel Aviv. Not feeling overly confident going in but hopefully this is David Nwabas debut

Brilliant start by Lions against Tel Aviv, currently 36 - 52, with Connor Morgan 5/6 from 3.
Well done London Lions
