Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Manchester and Liverpool. All good options. Maybe after the first year they will take it on the road.

I suspect the All Star Game might tour eventually, but I also suspect initially it’ll be at the Copper Box Arena. From a business perspective London, specifically the Copper Box, is the option with least risk.

Would holding the All Star Game in London really be any worse than holding it in Glasgow? I’m going to sound like a right Southerner here, but I always felt Glasgow was too far north… did many Northern fans really make the journey up there unless their team was in the game? So would this really be a step backwards? Or is the argument that London/Birmingham/Glasgow wasn’t right either, and maybe the All Star Game should be in a new location, like Manchester or Sheffield? Not that it matters. None of us are going to the All Star Game anyway, right? it didn't matter who was in the final in Glasgow - 4000 plus tickets were sold before anyone knew who was in the semi-finals let alone the final. I think the highest we did on our club booking was just over the hundred mark by Christmas. I know guys who are teachers in Dundee and they had their group booking and bus booked very early. The BBL HQ worked hard to get group bookings in early and year on year repeat business (normally with a couple of weeks of that years final, we had the first contact with details of the next years final. I bet its been the same with Birmingham and no doubt also the O2. I think London is big enough they can get 3000 plus advance group and other bookings for a copper box all star without knowing who is in each team - and not impact advance sales for O2 playoffs. I will miss my annual trip to a final no matter who will be in it - but am realistic and realise that (lets steal a common NBA terminology of the situ) up here is a small market and what the league needs to do is grow its commercials in its big markets to take the overall org forward.
