Great for Tosan. Having watched him for Princeton in their Sweet 26 run he's got such a huge potential upside. If he can work on his shot for a couple of years could definitely be a solid NBA player. Or we'll gladly have him back at the Eagles ๐

A two way contract is also a huge incentive to work hard to get that shot with the Pistons and the big pay day. The good thing is the Pistons absolutely suck so making their roster might not be as hard as any of the other teams!

Excellent news! Hopefully he can make his mark at Detriot and stay in the NBA for many seasons to come. Good luck Tosan!

Tosan has just signed a 10 day contract with the Memphis Grizzlies so he is officially going to the big leagues!
Even if he only plays stays 10 day contract it's still a massive achievement and great to see someone from the Eagles academy set up make it all the way to the top! ๐๐๐ฆ

Good chance he'll be there longer, the Grizzlies are decimated by injury problems this season. They need bodies! Let's hope he gets enough minutes to show what he can do!

Tosan got 16 minutes last night vs the Warriors, scoring 3 points from a lovely corner 3.
Amazing to see!

Tosan has now returned the Motor City Cruise in the NBA G League. A pity he didn't get to stay longer with the Grizzilies but hopefully this is only the start of a promising career and he will go back to the NBA soon or one of the elite leagues around the world.
Still a fantastic achievement and to think he got to play in the NBA and on court at Madison Square Gardens as well.

Looks like he wasn't back on his old team for long. The struggling Pistons have now called Tosan up for a 10 day contract!

Well it's all good experience! I'm confused how he was able to sign with the Grizzlies though, if he has a contract with the Pistons? Either way the moment you get called up for NBA time the money quickly increases, he should make somewhere between $100-200k just for these 2 call ups, so he's doing alright out of it!

I just learned this, but apparently G League players sign their contracts with the league, not the individual teams, essentially making them free agents by nba consideration. This means that with a few exceptions (eg two way players), any nba team can sign any G league player if they have roster room. Itโs nice to see the Pistons reward Tosan now post-Memphis given how he was doing for the g league team. I do wonder how hard it is to stand out on the court in these 10 day scenarios. Hopefully heโs doing all the right things behind the scenes to leave a positive impression though. Whatever happens, Iโm sure having NBA minutes on your resume massively ups your value when/if it becomes time to return to Europe.

played in the valentine days game at Phoenix - 8min 5pts (100% FG) 2 reb 1 stl
on top of his 74min across 4 games while at Grizzlies, he must be doing the right thing behind the scenes to get more than just the last min of games.

No more games due to the all star break. Wonder if he'll get another one after I also learned earlier that a "10 day contract" lasts for either 10 days or 3 games - whichever is longer. So theoretically he could stay on the roster for both their Feb 23rd & 24th games against the Pacers and Magic respectively. Although, that said, they signed him on the 13th and had a game against the Lakers that evening so unsure if that would count.

I wondered that when I looked at the Pistons schedule as theoretically they were signing him up for 2 games and one he didn't even get to feature in. Although judging my the post on the Eagles Foundation page which showed the NBA pundits talking about him when he came on. I like to think it is a sign that he might have a future in the NBA.
