Lions will have travelled back from Poland the day before. Will that help Giants? Probably not much.

I predict Eagles are going to dominate on Friday night and Riders won't have an answer for us. We'll play fast unpredictable basketball, players will come off the bench and all be in double digit points by half time.
Mockford will actually decide to show up and play for once dropping 7 3 pointers for us. Stetuel and Stronach will actually have a game plan built for the ages ready to throw at Riders!
Robbie P will have a meltdown and get ejected after 2 T's, Kimbel will have a nightmare game and Menzie's forgets his lucky trainers. The Beers will all be half price, chuck a duck is cancelled and the match will go down as the Eagles BBL game of year!
And then all of a sudden I wake up and realise it was all just a wonderful dream and I was actually watching the Newcastle Eagles team of 2011/12.

Sadly I can't see past a battering for Eagles. If they run true to form we'll have a decent first half followed by a second half meltdown. If the weather stays poor then I may catch this one on YouTube. Mind, my mood wasn't helped when I read this. newcastle-eagles.com/news/scotswood-road-parking-update/Credit to the Eagles for trying to help but why reward bad behaviour? If you look on Google maps satellite view you can see the pathway is divided into a pedestrian lane and a cycle lane. This is clearly marked with signs also stating no waiting. Folks have started parking on the pavement cycle lane rather than parking in the adjacent industrial estates or Eagles car park. Last Friday they all got tickets. Sad for them but I suspect there will be no sympathy from the hundreds who park legally and walk a little further.

I’ve never parked there (honest guv) but have to say that (a) I never knew it was a cycle lane and (b) I’ve never seen a bike on it. You live and learn.

Was always going to be picked up on by the coooncil, they shouldn’t be parking in cycle lanes Anyway eagles fans what we all saying? Are scorchers going to pip eagles for the 9th place trophy? With our run of games probably. It's hard to see where our next win will be coming from if we win another game this season. With regards to the parking it would help if they sorted out the carry on from people turning around on that hill outside the arena. It can be quite annoying when heading in that people have no idea. As for the other games the sky one should be a good one if the Lions are tired after that Poland win. Perhaps Vince might finally get one over on his old team. Whilst the Glads will be wanting to build some momentum ahead of the Trophy Final. I'd pip them to beat the Sharks who will see tommorow as another opportunity to put more distance between us and them for the final Playoff spot. However if I was them I would be more looking up the table and trying to see if they can jump Plymouth in 7th. As unless by some miracle we can get atleast 2 wins out of 3 in the next few matches. I again doubt we they have anything to worry about from us.

The Sharks aren't out of the woods yet. Still gelling as a team and breaking down on defence to the extent that we could struggle to pick up any more wins. Unfortunately for Eagles we have to play scorchers twice, but at least it will keep things interesting until the end of the season. The positive for the Sharks is that crowds are significantly up this year despite the oncourt struggles - something that Eagles and Scorchers seem to have experienced as well.

It frustrated me a little too, I pay for my parking in the Eagles car park so I don't end up getting a ticket by parking stupidly on paths and cycleways. I can see it from Eagles point of view though, as they need to look after their paying customers. Surprised the council buckled more than anything else to be honest. Would never dream of parking on there myself, just wouldn't enjoy my night thinking I might get a ticket. As far as tonight is concerned, I'm a little more optimistic than most judging by the above comments. I don't think we'll get battered but I'm expecting a close game where we'll probably come up a bit short. If only we'd had this team from the beginning of the season we might have been able to achieve mid table. Ah well, hopefully the experience has been learned from and we'll start things off better next season.

This team doesn’t have enough depth, starting five are competitive then when the bench is needed it falls apart

Starting 5 has been good though, so hopefully good enough to keep it close tonight. We aren't qualifying for the playoffs now so I'm not too bothered about results. I just want to see some entertaining, competitive games to finish off the season.

Tip off has been delayed until 8pm in Newcastle due to Leicester Riders running late.

There was a crane on fire between J30 and J31 on M1 northbound. It closed the motorway in both directions and blocked traffic on the A1 and M18 for some considerable time. SWMBO is visiting friends in South Yorkshire. Journey normally takes two an half hours down the A1, this one, four and a half. Ouch.
