I get it if it's a league game. Lions could throw another 3 or 4 games and it makes no difference. But why do that in the trophy? Playing chunks of the game...including the final 6 minutes...without any of your 10 best players on the court. It's almost like they were trying to lose so that they don't win all 4 and it makes the league look more competitive than it is. I'm not sure I believe that. But I can't get my head round it. If they genuinely tried to lose then it's a disgrace and embarrassment to the sport and history of BBL The scoreline suggests they may well have done so? I honestly don’t think London tried to lose… but given this was a quarter final to win a title they played a poor line-up and didn’t give the game the respect it deserved. I’ve absolutely no idea why.

Sounds like lions disrespected the competition by fielding a weakened team, well done Caledonia

Sounds like lions disrespected the competition by fielding a weakened team, well done Caledonia I think it’s fair to say they disrespected the competition and underestimated the opposition, or overestimated their own young players. Maybe it is part of squad management. To make sure these young players know why they only get a few minutes here and there. London’s best player was JWH and he comes across as someone without a big ego.

Given how many games Lions have to play across both the BBL and Europe along with injuries. It makes sense for them to be rolling out the B team in order to give them experience and share the load off. I did say that later on in the season Lions may struggle with injuries due to the heavy schedule.

Gladiators didn’t thrash them. They won at home against a bunch of teenagers. And they won by a whisker.

They had precisely one player under the age of 21 playing. …
