irf. complaining about other teams recruitment when leicester literally had one guy to recruit and got it wrong three separate times …. We get far more recruitment decisions right than we get wrong? Eagles consistently get far more wrong than they get right? The League Table speaks for itself on that for many years now? This debate has nothing to do with Riders regardless Eagles have demonstrated significantly worse recruitment in BBL for some times based on where they should be I've honestly never known a fanbase of a sports team to be so accepting of poor team management? That's clearly not restricted to on here The fans are still turning up in numbers to watch a team compete at bottom of the league level Takes a lot of pressure off the owner. And I guess as prize money is non existent in BBL then the owner isn't financially hurt by poor performance on court All at stake at the moment is the extra income from a single home leg playoff I guess Being at the bottom of the league only really damages pride rather than finances IRF, you're not the first to misunderstand the Geordie mentality. We are loyal to our teams and support them through thick and thin. Newcastle United regularly sold out St James Park when they dropped down to the Championship. We set attendance records for that division. Similarly down the road at Sunderland. They were getting crowds of 30,000+ in League 1. That doesn't stop us having our say. I don't believe for one second that if Riders were in the same position fans would abandon them. Any that did I would happily describe as plastic fans and I absolutely hate that phrase.

Judging by the empty seats at the Morningside recently, some have abandoned a good team.

As for "blaming" Paul Blake that's never going to happen. Without Paul and Sam Blake there would be no Eagles, no purpose built Arena, no Women's team, no Hoops for Health, no Community Foundation, no 1000s of kids playing the game and a pathway to play the game at a higher level. At least one player has won a place at a US College. Not to mention Paul's time as Chair of the BBL.
Yes we surely have a lot to "blame" Paul Blake for.

Erj14, if that's true, it makes me very sad.

It's not the premier league, Eagles (and I'm sure most other BBL clubs) mean more to people than just a result at the weekend.

Judging by the empty seats at the Morningside recently, some have abandoned a good team. For what it's worth, the Morningside has rarely ever sold out. Pretty much only sells out when there are the huge assemblies of cheerleader classes. We aren't losing spectators as far as I can tell.

I believe he was also instrumental in getting the Sky Sports deal done too.
