The “Know our name” campaign does point towards an All Stars Championship. I can see how that could be more marketable than having two cup competitions.

The “Know our name” campaign does point towards an All Stars Championship. I can see how that could be more marketable than having two cup competitions. As long as any type of All Stars Championship event focuses on promoting the teams and not individual players. The player turnover in the BBL is so high I'm not sure a North v South All Stars type thing would achieve much, however an All Stars event with all the BBL teams would be excellent promotion for the league and the teams in it. |

I was thinking 4 teams so you can have a central venue weekend on TV, and especially if you're going to start doing things like altering the court with a 4 point line or hot spots, not all venues would be geared up for that.

The British Basketball All Stars Championship had a central venue and involved 8 BBL teams. Yes, the games were 10 or 12 minutes, but if you're introducing 4 or 5 point line you're already throwing away the traditional rule book. |

Well it could be that then, 4 was just a suggestion and it would give teams something to compete for mid-way through the season. If you're in 5th or 6th place then winning the league might already be out of reach but you could still qualify for this event by making a push for top 4 by a certain date. Top 8 is like the playoffs and means only the real dregs lose out on appearing in it. Top 4 might add prestige to the event?
