London I’ve had some pretty bad calls go against them today I know there’s always going to be dodgy calls in a BBL game but they definitely feel like they’ve come off the worst of it, in such a close, important game it seems very harsh
EDIT: absolute joke now

London are pitiful.
Unless Vince made his own decision to go, what was the point of cutting him mid-season?
Vear is out of his depth, his wonderful Division 2 experience is far too lightweight for this roster.
Why the hell are 777 not kicking anyone's ass besides Vince?

Glasgow deciding overtime against Thames Valley is the way forward.

He’s had two okay wins in the BBL, The two European losses were no worse than under Vince, and then the only other game he’s had was tonight where they didn’t look good but still kept it very close with Leicester until the refs took over, I don’t think there’s too much to criticise Vear for yet tbh

Another player injured at eagles Shelton now? 🤦♂️ Newcastle are having some pretty bad luck. My team Riders have suffered similarly in the last two years.. never rains but it pours.

Riders and actually quite a few other teams deal much better with that adversity than the Eagles do. This season has been a disaster, and it's not all down to bad luck. They've recruited an awful team this year.

If not, why this change mid-season? Great atmosphere at the Copper Box tonight by the way, some real improvements being made in terms of overall game night experience.

That’s fair enough, I am very confident 777 do not see Vear as the long-term coach, so there has to be some reasoning behind Vince leaving whatever it is, I doubt we’re going to find out any time soon, I just don’t think it’s fair to criticise the new coach after so few games considering they’ve played two teams with far far greater budgets, the best team in the league and then one the other two games

Sorry but can’t agree with the “refs had a shocker” Lions we’re getting plenty of calls when we breathed a bit heavy on them in the first half.
Lions have always been a team of individuals who play for themselves and that’s Vinces style of recruitment and coaching, Where Rob will bring in players who suit each other’s style and play as a solid unit. So Lions can keep their flashy offence....Because we all know that Defence wins championships
So now we’re 4-1 this season against Lions, but I suppose there will still be people who think that Lions are the strongest team in the league.

I’m criticising the decision to kick Vince out if the results since his exit aren’t any better than he would have likely produced. But as you say, it’s early days. And I too think Vear is just an interim solution - I’m just not sure why.

They've got rid of a car salesman and replaced him with a high calibre British coach. Madness to think people don't get this.
If Vear was able to recruit they'd be a lot closer to Leicester this year

Certainly not me. I think Lions are their biggest competition but Riders are the best team in the country right now. Last night Lions played 20 minutes of good basketball. Riders played 40 minutes of good basketball. And the end result reflected that.

If Vear was able to recruit they'd be a lot closer to Leicester this year Didn’t the new GM essentially recruit this seasons line-up, not Vince? And if you’re right about Vear (and I acknowledge his experience) I’m expecting better results, fast, because at the moment his results aren’t any better than that ‘car salesman’.

I think if you look at Q4 again you'll see that Lions didn't score until one minute and 20 seconds before the end of that quarter. That wasn't down to the refs. It's pretty clear our defence smothered their offence.

Hard to see past Riders tbh - actually wont be surprised to see a double digit margin in it. Dont know enough about TVC - but hoping Rocks new guy is in a better shape than in his rushed debut at Cheshire and some of the injury guys are back to full fitness. If all that is the case, expect Rocks to have too much for their NBL hosts. Watched online Derby in their final last month - expect Flyers have to much speed and height for this to be a tight game. Called it - Riders got the double digit margin, just did not expect them to shut ldn down for 0pts in 8.5 minutes. Riders bench was always going to be the difference for me as any time watched both these squads Riders just come across as deeper and more options. Lions can start strong, but too many guys are expected to contribute 35+ but Riders are able to go 25+ to 30+ so when you come to the key 4th period are a strong close out team. Never saw the other games - but does look like Rocks limited the minutes of the guys who had been out and had to re-focus to close it in OT. Stats do hint Derby ran out of stem and pace - competed well for 3 periods and then Flyers ran away with it. Foul count was a strange one in this game. Think it was 8:22 at the end of the 3rd.

No you didn’t win because of the refs, but a few really poor decisions did go against Lions while the game was very tight, I definitely think Riders are the better team and will probably favourites to win anyway, but Final score and that performance in the fourth quarter aren’t really representative of the game in my opinion
