Revenge is sweet. Battered Flyers and Whelan was, as usual, excellent. I hoped we'd show our normal commitment to defence and after the first 5 minutes that's what we did, in spades.

So London knock out Newcastle and proceed to the next round of the Trophy. Great game from London, but really should have been a 20+ win rather than a 14 point win, especially after that killer first quarter. Best game I’ve seen from Neighbour this season, and a good game for Kelley and Reese. Newcastle still too dependent on Defoe and Fletcher. Next up Manchester in the quarter finals.

The Plymouth game was a wee bit closer in that last quarter. Good to see Plymouth get the W.

So in all competitions Eagles have just lost 5 in a row and that’s the second time this season that this has happened, Now when was the last time that happened, With the personal they have they should be pulling in more W’s Is it time for a change of personal....If so is it players or coaches?

Eagles doing another 1st qtr no show, it’s getting embarrassing this season now

What's happened to Peel? Looks like half the player, offensively at least. Is he playing injured?

We lost 5 in a row earlier this season (we were playing academy players for most of those games, so understandable) and apparently that was the first time that's happened for over 20 years, so now we've done it twice! Eagles really are a poor basketball team this year, the recruitment has been absolutely woeful. Apart from Fletch the other 3 imports have got be the worst we've ever signed. Wes Person is supposed to be a scorer, but doesn't score and is a sieve on defence. Brandon Peel has been a shell of the player that was at London and looks so short on confidence. Shelton is OK but far from a quality big and makes too many mistakes. Tonight we relied on Fletcher and Defoe on offence to keep us in (in is probably an overstatement) the game. The fact Defoe is doing what he's doing at his age is so impressive, but a sad indictment on the rest of the team. His shooting tonight was unbelievable. I really can't see any light at the end of the tunnel with this team, I'd honestly rather just send the imports home and look at development for the future. The first quarter was a shambles.

Well after the Eagles match tonight I'm gutted we're out but I suppose it could have been alot worse especially after the 1st Quarter meltdown.
Congratulations to London, they played qn excellent game tonight and clearly showed playing mid week Europe didn't hurt them. After last time it looked like it actually favoured them.
They kept their cool, got good shots from the 3 and Kelly and Neighbour were great bigs on defence. Neighbour especially showed how much he wanted the ball with his dives to save it.
Vince got lucky not to get ejected at the end with his unnecessary T at the end when Neighbour turned the ball over badly. Would have been a bad ending to great game if he had have got chucked out and had to serve a game suspension. Having said at times I wish Ian showed the same frustration sometimes when we made silly mistakes on the ball.
As for the Eagles 1st Quarter aside we gave London a fair battle and knocked down some shots and played okay defence. But once again we gave ourselves to much to do and struggled to recover the rest of the night. I knew by the end of the 3rd we weren't getting a close finish. And I the 2nd half to me it seemed like London switched from kill mode to cruise mode which is why the score seemed closer then it should have been if you ask me.
Atleast now for Ian we have 3 months to turn things around for a last gasp shot at the playoffs. Although at this stage I feel it will take a miracle to win that again since we will probably get pitted against London or Leicester if we even make it.
As for the Trophy its a safe bet but I now predict the winner of the competition will most likely come from whoever wins between Giants and Lions in the next round. But I wish them goodluck.
On another note can Howard please stop calling the chuck a duck to early. It's infuriating to see the kids blocking the side of the court and I'm worried a player who dives for a ball is one day going to flatten some of them. Ref had to stop the match because one child chucked theirs during play!

Neighbour was great - why doesn't he play more? The real stand out for me tonight though was Washburn, super efficent offensively and did an immense job on Corey Johnson who barely got a sniff all game. Don't rate Kelley at all and it's sad seeing JRob playing so poorly.

Would love it if Howard didn't say a word to be fair.

As for Justin Robinson, I can’t decide whether he just doesn’t measure up to these new big budget line ups, is still recovering from injury, or is just getting towards the end of his career. I still like him though, he’s London Lions through and through.

He seems really hesitant going for lay ups and rebounds, can't decide if he's playing through calf/ankle issues or just playing with zero fire in his belly. Shame either way.

Kelly to me looked like he was Volleyball player who was wandered into the wrong sport the amount of block slaps he did tonight and he made a lot of easy misses. A bit like Peel in previous games but credit to them they both were effective tonight. To be honest during the game tonight I amusingly wanted to blame Tuck and Geno for drawing us against London in round 1. Although having said that it hasn't worked out for Riders or Sharks either. Maybe next year we should petition the draw to be done by Gareth Murray and Justin Robinson instead. 🤣

Can't see anything less than a thumping for pats today. Giants are very good and Williams under pressure will turn over the ball a lot. Not sure pats have anyone to defend Dan on the 3 either

Not a bad start from Patriots, they definitely look capable of being competitive anyway which is more than could be said a few weeks ago
