Ugly, but competitive game so far, Reese has been fantastic, Patrick Whelan having probably his worst game of the season

Coach Lawry looks like a infant who has been put into 6th form. Has he said anything?

And don't bother employing the mystery coach either if that final ludicrously-optimistic play was the best he could come up with.
Why was Reese inbounding when he should have been the three-point shooter, not the ice-cold Cugini.

Don't want to be smug. A battling victory by Riders and a terrific win by stopping Lions. 🙂

The best team won on the day. Crandell showed why he was elected as league MVP, and Rob coached the game excelently.
Today was a victory for a team playing together and having great preperation.
Congratulations should go to Kevin Routledge for putting all the peices in place to make Riders the best team in the country.

Spot on Crandall was solid as a rock at the end when needed Washington was crucial as well and showed why we need him

All the side made important contributions. We should not forget the work put in by the assistant coached, Pablo Vasquez & Will Maynard, plus the medical staff, including Donna, the physio's and Thomas, the team Chiropracter. To be successful, especially to have sustained success, requires a lot of work and commitment, from all involved.

That final was exactly what Sky and the O2 needed. Good for everyone except Lions I guess. Super close contest and it all came down to the last 2 seconds. Basketball in the UK is on the up I think. If clubs can retain some key core players then next season will be exciting.
PS Enjoyed hearing Crandall say he'd like to remain at Riders. Comes down to money I guess. Can't argue he doesn't deserve an increase!

If Leicester had the same season next year, I mean no Europe, how much more do you think he deserves ? Without knowing how much he earns I'd hazard a guess at 5k a month is his value in the bbl

Sounded like he really wants to stay and wants the rest of the squad to stay together How classy was what he did and said to Vince just as the game finished?

What happened to Laurent Irish and Dave Greenway?

With Loving and Whelan not firing Lions had a great chance to win today. Lions once again let down by very odd rotations and poor coaching when it mattered. Given you expect Reese and Geno to do their thing Cooner was far and away the most important player in the game.

I thought there were some odd rotations by Lions sometimes. Foul trouble created issues of course but I think Lions weren't helped by their subs. Conversely, Riders were able use the bench to good effect. The end of the game celebrations reminded me of when we first beat Eagles in the cup at Birmingham to take the trophy. Same intensity and joy/relief for this victory. Riders didn't shoot threes well, Loving & Whelan weren't as effective as they usually are and don't mention free throws... and yet the team still found a way to win. One of our greatest triumphs.
