You've come to the conclusions that teams are deeper from a game where only 1 player outside if the starting 5 for either team has scored a point ?

I meant I thought about it more during this game… fine if you disagree. Tell me a team who’ve missed the playoffs or been 7/8th seed in recent years that would have the quality of players eagles do this year?

Don't forget tall man earlier this week said Fletch was still the second best PG in the league and arguably the best Yet even with his quality they are struggling to get top 8 I agree the league is deeper

Again fletch last night sealed 10apg, the 2nd highest in bbl history. He needs 2 more to have the most in bbl history per game tomorrow.
Fletch hasn't dropped off just because his support has, if anything it shows he's better.
My comment on the bench points was accurate when I made it mid way through the third, it was a talking point in the half time show with kieron Achara

Not sure about the level of this year's quality of teams but it's certainly made the final days games exciting. Only 4 out of the 10 teams know their league position for certain, the other 6 have all to play for. It gets even better, Giants are 1 each in games with Lions for 3rd and 4th and they play each, ditto for Nix and Flyers for 5th and 6th, ditto for Eagles and Patriots for 8th and 9th. Only Sharks and Rocks know who their next game is against. Suspect even Dan Routledge won't find such a close competition in his database of the last 40 odd years.

The lions were the 4th seed and raiders 5th so wasn’t the shock you are making out en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018%E2%80%9319_British_Basketball_League_season

The link you've shared literally says we're 8th and Lions were 1st.
The standard, or lack of replacements have lowered the level of the league. The league lost 2 storied franchises. Players went missing for weeks on end (washburn). Clubs lost their title sponsor mid season. Some clubs didn't even have a shirt sponsor. I could on but the state the bbl this year hasn't been better than normal

In my defence the playoff round 1 seeding says 4 and 5 on that page but incorrectly 🤦♂️ I still disagree regarding the drop off. Every year we seem to say how poor it is. I don’t think losing royals and a uni team is as bad as you’re saying and would argue it’s better for them to be gone. I will get my tin hat on.

Of course it is. The usual banal hogwash you can expect to hear. Paternostro and his sychophants only sing when they're winning. Wonder how magnanimous Daniel Peacock will be if his bunch lose today. Stuff them Linos!

It is for the other teams in the league to improve, on and off the court, until they are able to compete with Leicester.
The key is producing the right enviroment for a team to succeed.

I wouldn't be crowing so much about off the court. Three trophies this year and endless trophies in seasons prior and Leicester still can't fill the stands. Newcastle, Plymouth etc. would be rammed every single match with that sort of success. Come to it even NBL3 big guns Worcester and Teeside have more appreciative support.

There is more, a lot more, than selling seats.
The fact the players know when they sign they will get good quality accomodation, provided by one the the countries leading homebuilders, Jelson, they they know they will receive top quality healthcare, including optical and dental care, the fact that the players have access to specialist sports physios and chiropractors. Plus the know they will be paid, on time and in full. Riders also have a wide range of comercial partners, who have been involved for many years. Which does suggest they are providing a positive return on investment for their partners.
Remember we are still in the recovery stage from a global pandemic, all forms of indoor entertainment are struggling to sell seats. Given time the spectator numbers will grow again, and even half full Riders have a bigger attendance than most BBL sides!

How is it any different to the years on end when Eagles were at the top and dominating everything? Nothing lasts forever, Riders will eventually slip down.
