Exciting game for Sky and we had a bit of everything thrown into the pot. Technicals (which actually galvanised Riders) and a bit of needle between players. Lead kept swapping and it took Crandall to seize the day and close things out in the final minutes. Great atmosphere. Look forward to watching it tomorrow on Sky.Felt good to win this one. Giants are an impressive team.

Well it was a brave performance for most the game for the Eagles and better then last week but sadly not enough against a strong Cheshire team. Without Fletch was always going to be a struggle and in the 2nd half the referees weren't great tonight letting Cheshire get away with to much. Might as well have stuck the officials in Cheshire tops for the 3rd Quarter since they called barely anything on Cheshire even when they were pulling jerseys or travelling. However Cheshire scored some brilliant shot especially from beyond the arc and were deserving winners. On a positive note I felt we played better defensively tonight and Peel had a better game I felt but asides from that it was same ol same ol from us again. Except it played out in a different way to what I predicted earlier in the week. 6 loss on the bounce and 4 games left to plays offs we might as well be playing the song "Time is Running out" by Muse as our entrance music. Aswell the classic Oasis song "Don't look back in anger" when reflecting on how much of a disaster this season has been for us. On another note I wonder what the Charles Smith was thinking tonight when watching. It was great to see an Eagles Legend back in the house. Without Fletch I'm surprised you only lost by 15 pts It's not often he misses matches Must be resting him for "the big one" V Surrey

I think Fletch fancied a night off, his body language hasn’t been the greatest understandably the last few games,

After watching the game on Sky this morning, have to say how impressed I am by Lloyd Gardner's comments when he was interviewed after they lost. Honest, direct and praised Riders. Must have hurt to lose because they came so close to beating us again. Showing the same grit and steel which has been the hallmark of Paternostro through the years. Giants will be strong contenders for silverware in the playoffs.

It felt at time last night a bit like a pre season friendly, as the result never really mattered, I always felt we would come away with the victory just because we were on tv and we’re collecting the Championship trophy.
Now for all you fairly new Riders fans have a think about this…. At half time Riders bring on three past players Thomas, Jones and Hurrell They were bloody awful, I had to watch form like that week in week out, season in season out, it left scares on my memories, So think yourselves lucky that you have joined whilst Rob is in charge and remember that greatness is not guaranteed.
Looking forward….I wonder how Charnwood will get on Vs Lions next Sunday.

Agree with Spacejammer, a much better performance. Good to see Person jnr back but with Fletch missing due to Covid a win was unlikely. I would not be too critical of the defence, Nix ball movement around the perimeter was superb and the shooting was outstanding. No real complaints. On the plus side I was able to catch the last half hour of NUFC v Wolves so the night wasn't a complete bust.

Thought the retro night worked well. Only really remembered hilroy of the half time three but they were awful.
Riders played most of the game knowing that it didn't really matter until the ridiculous non travel call and the double technical seemed to galvanise them. Always like a game with a bit of needle. Hilroy was always good at that

But those were the days when there were games at Leicester (Granby Hall) to get excited about. I often used to go to post-Xmas matches there as a neutral and was well entertained. Nowadays Riders frequently struggle to sellout with their own fans, never mind attracting any neutrals. I just don't see the point in winning multiple trophies year on year in the small pond that is British basketball, but not having the balls to take a step up into Europe. Just like their coach, Leicester lack ambition. Boring, boring, boring when it could instead be Boing, boing, boing...

Costs of being in Europe are high and does the risk justify the reward?

Lol The club and the coach want to compete in Europe But it's got to be financially viable If we can afford it without risking the stability of the club Ive no doubt we will compete in Europe again What we do know from the last attempt is its hard to get basketball fans to attend midweek for European games in Leicester What size crowds did Granby Halls hold for basketball? In the good old days?

It is hard to sell out mid week games, you need to have a dedicated large portion of your crowd to do it. Patriots games tomorrow is sold out and they've been around less than a year, hard to do but not impossible. Leicester notoriously struggle with fans, they work on that and it'll be Europe for more often

Leicester notoriously struggle with fans, they work on that and it'll be Europe for more often Well first of all - well done on selling out tomorrow But bear in mind it's Easter holidays this week and kids don't have school the next day (unless I'm mistaken for Plymouth) Kids and young families are a huge part of Riders fanbase As I'm sure they are at Plymouth Also tough at the moment with cost of living rising to think families will attend midweek AND weekend game same week For you guys you didn't have a home game last weekend and next home game is 24th April So I guess you could never have a better Wednesday to get fans in Much harder when you have weekend BBL matches at home as well Especially when the kids are at school Not an easy problem to solve Basically playing in Europe is a huge extra cost for us And we get far less fans at the Europe midweek games than at the weekend BBL games

Just looked at Pats website
Tomorrow's game not sold out yet but doesn't look like many seats left at all so I'm sure it will be by game time
Interestingly you are already sold out for home game on Sunday 24th April
Very positive
I loved the atmosphere at your venue when I went a few years ago
What's the plans for next season?
Same venue or new venue?
I think you guys really benefit from being part of the theatre set up and marketing database
It's go-to entertainment in Plymouth

I'm not a pats fan mate, there's no we, just them.
Last Wednesday they had Riders at home, probably 80% full too. But yeah lots of young families, I do thibk that is part of the problem with British basketball.
I'm told they have a venue secured for next season, it will be a shadow of pavilions but most would be, the worry is where they are playing don't hold big events so those first few games are going to be a bit of a shit show
