Riders may have won the league by then
Which may or may not impact the level of team we play against Manchester
Personally I think it's catch 22 resting players to avoid injury
We lose momentum of winning games
And players lose match sharpness
We may be as well just playing best team we can pretty much all the way to the end of season

Can eagles beat Nix? Not so sure Can't see them winning another game this season, maybe against Surrey but that's it. The just don't compete to a level that gives me any sort of confidence at all.

I predict our game will go... -Start well for first 5 minutes of Q1 -We'll lose it in Q2 and be down like 14-16 points at HT -3rd Quarter will be will we/won't we get back in this? -4th Quarter game will be over and the crowd will disperse whilst the rest of the crowd look on in despair. (Except any Nix fans that travel up who will be loving it.) Meanwhile on court we will -Play poor defence -Shoot about 50% FG -Mac will call a T/O with no difference made or kick to get back into the game. -The team look clueless on court as to what to do? Then post game their will be another 5 pages on this thread of everything that has gone wrong at the Eagles this season plus 1 or 2 new reasons to be added. Followed by gloating from IRF about how good the Riders are and Robbie P even though we were against Cheshire. Someone please tell I'm going to be wrong? 🤣

However, your prediction of how the game v Nix will go might be correct!! (Apart from the first 5 minutes)

(Apart from the first 5 minutes) You can say that again, looking at the attitudes on court last week the only players I would re sign for the Eagles would be Fletcher, Gordon and the kids. I saw laughing amongst the Eagles during the 3rd Quarter whilst we were getting crucified. That seriously made me question how many players had their heart in it or if they were just looking at where will they go next year? Defoe as much as you got to respect him and thank him for everything he's done for the Eagles as well as the BBL. I think seeing how frustrated he was is a sign that it's time to hang up the boots as well. Another conversation I feel Paul Blake needs to have as well replacing Mac for the next season.

Already lost once in the retro shirts can easily see it happening again on Friday especially if they have been allowed some celebrations

Is Defoe a future Eagles coach? Assistant coach who can play minutes from the bench?

I would love to see Defoe stick around or possibly be a coach with us one day or branch elsewhere in the organisation. Although as proven in all sports just because an athlete was a great player doesn't mean they will be brilliant ad a coach or in other areas. By the way I noticed the TV schedule has changed again from Nix/Eagles to Riders/Giants again.

Giants will fancy their chances although Player of the Month award may prove to be a curse! Tasty match-up and should be a great atmosphere.

Small minutes from the bench Take some pressure off Mac

I just want to see some effort for more than five minutes. I will interested in the crowd size tonight. Newcastle United also at home and the match is live on Sky. I wonder if swmbo would allow me to stream both? Time to check my brownie points account.

I read the game was sold out tonight and so was the football match as well but I think that was sold out weeks ago. My predication for the other games is Bristol to beat Sheffield I reckon. And Leicester to beat Manchester although Manchester are on a good run at the moment so could go either way. But if their on Sky I doubt Rob will let his guys relax (unless injured) until after this game in order to give us a show. I didn't tape last week's match but couldn't find a re run in the schedule anywhere which made me wonder if Sky knew they had screwed up. Hopefully this is a better game for all fans.

Think sky have switched to riders v giants haven’t they? Yes. I think, again, they thought Riders might win the Championship with this game. But as with last week, that’s obviously not the case. I’ve seen Vince courtside tonight in Leicester… no way he doesn’t have some sort of role in the BBL next season.

Another week, another masterclass in how not to defend from the Eagles. The amount of open three point attempts tonight for Phoenix was unbelievable. They didn't even have to play that well tonight.
Definitely not a sell out tonight, but pretty full. Lots of familiar faces (season ticket holders) not there tonight, possibly due to a NUFC home game kicking off at the exact same time. Lovely to see how many Phoenix fans made the trip up to watch their team, hope they enjoyed their evening.

Well it was a brave performance for most the game for the Eagles and better then last week but sadly not enough against a strong Cheshire team.
Without Fletch was always going to be a struggle and in the 2nd half the referees weren't great tonight letting Cheshire get away with to much. Might as well have stuck the officials in Cheshire tops for the 3rd Quarter since they called barely anything on Cheshire even when they were pulling jerseys or travelling.
However Cheshire scored some brilliant shot especially from beyond the arc and were deserving winners. On a positive note I felt we played better defensively tonight and Peel had a better game I felt but asides from that it was same ol same ol from us again. Except it played out in a different way to what I predicted earlier in the week.
6 loss on the bounce and 4 games left to plays offs we might as well be playing the song "Time is Running out" by Muse as our entrance music. Aswell the classic Oasis song "Don't look back in anger" when reflecting on how much of a disaster this season has been for us.
On another note I wonder what the Charles Smith was thinking tonight when watching. It was great to see an Eagles Legend back in the house.
