If Mac does leave Newcastle, who do we think would replace?
Is it a case of find someone knew completely out of the system or do they just give it to the next Eagle on the list ?

What's Drew Sullivan doing nowadays?
If you want someone to instill discipline and hard work ethic
Demand that players play for the team and not for personal stats
He won't suffer any fools and would shake things up a bit I'm sure
Could he work alongside Mac?
Just add the discipline and work ethic

But it's also why I suggested he work alongside Mac There are definitely qualities missing at Eagles right now that Drew would "address" Just an idea And he's lived there before hasn't he? |

Assistants don't need to be qualified though, head coaches do, not that he couldn't easily qualify.
Not convinced someone who's been out yhe game for years is the right approach though, unless you're a Leicester fan I guess!

He would add qualities that Eagles don't have right now At a time they really need them They couldn't get worse could they? Make him assistant to Mac See what happens to the next Eagles player who posts personal stats on social media full stop Let alone after a defeat!! |

It would be Steutel for me. Although there's various high profile ex players waiting in the wings I don't think that would be the way to go.
But I doubt Mac would be going anywhere. It's not really Eagles style although this season has descended into an absolute farce. (The women's team even more so than the mens by the way).
I'm not pressing the panic button yet but the organisation do need to do something to make sure it's a bad season rather than the beginning of a long term downwards spiral.

Wiki has Sulli as GB assistant 2017/18. I don't know if he has his Coaching badges but would he want it? I thought he was pursuing other business interests. We don't know what is the cause of our spectacular decline but short or long-term, Gary Stronach has to be in with a shout. If of course, Eagles were to be looking.
Edit, Steutal also a good shout, maybe even better than Stronach.

I think Vince is great to consult a new less established club, Newcastle are doing every right apart from win at the moment.
Fresh ideas and fresh players with a fresh culture needed.

I saw this thread and for a second thought he was gone.
I agree with the above I can't see them getting rid of Mac even if we don't make the playoffs as its not an Eagles thing to do.
If it was footy management then he'd be gone a while ago but in BBall I reckon he'd be back but with more pressure next season to turn it around.
Which I feel is needed right now as I do feel at times he's a little to comfortable.
My vote if it did happen would also he Steutel or possibly Newby however now we're a few years post Fab I reckon fans would certainly be more open to an outsider coach coming in now.
Drew Sullivan and possibly Charlie Smith would be an interesting shout but I reckon they need more experience before taking on the Eagles job.
Afterall like in any sport good players don't necessarily mean they are good in other aspects of the business.
Just look how Michael Jordan has done as owner of the Bobcats? Compared to Steve Kerr with Golden State Warriors.
Considering Fab left so suddenly and the role was never advertised I would be curious to see how many people would want the Eagles job if you put it out on the Market?

Would be very surprised of there were any changes, at least to the head coach position this summer. For what it's worth, I think McLeod deserves another year to learn from the mistakes made this season. After all, it took Rob P and Fab time to build what they did. That comes from experience.
In the unlikely event of him being removed, my ideal replacement would be Matt Newby. I remember being very impressed with how he conducted himself when his team blew the Eagles away just before Covid hit.
