He can only spend what he and the club can afford to spend I don't know the financial situation for him and the club since Covid struck They obviously lost an important long term sponsor But clearly they are the best supported team in the League right now so have significant income compared to most of their opposition But whatever the financial constraints he has overseen Eagles as year by year they've dropped in the league For a few years alongside Fab and now with Mac Whilst other clubs have put stronger and deeper squads together Eagles have not It's his job to address that one way or another Support the existing coach better Or find a better coach Many Eagles fans have commented on here and social media that the club appear to be shambles etc on court right now That's Paul Blake's club they are calling a shambles The facts don't lie Eagles are actually in danger of not even qualifying for playoffs Other clubs have leapfrogged them in the league under his watch He hasn't delivered |

Lack of direction, planning and progress on court Down to money or nous or a bit of both It obviously involves Fab as coach for a few years and now involves Mac But he's the one who appoints coaches, provides them with budgets and decides if they are doing a good enough job for the club or not to warrant keeping their jobs When Charles Smith left Eagles it was Paul himself who thanked Charles but at the same time said this gives us the chance to reinvigorate the squad. It wasn't Fab who said that. So Paul clearly takes an interest in the blend of the squad He promised a younger more athletic squad He had just seen his existing squad outworked and outrun by Riders Same things still happening now seven years later except all the other clubs are doing the same to them He's failed to reinvigorate Eagles to their previous levels ever since IMO And this year is literally embarrassing on court for a club of Eagles calibre Hes the one with the ability to change things And let's not pretend there isn't a lot that needs changing at Eagles right now |

To be fair Faz, I don't see any personal insults and IRF is entitled to his opinion, just as others are entitled to tell him he's wrong! There is actually a reference to basketball somewhere in his posts and those aimed at him, which is a huge upgrade on DTB and Hersey's exchanges that haven't been anywhere near a basketball. But IRF you do need to reign it in a bit please like when you first joined here, I sense you are deliberately goading people and we can do without that. At the end of the day most teams have had ups and downs in their history and in time it will change around again, so there's really no point in gloating as it doesn't last forever!
