Corey Johnson can be removed, he has signed for Newcastle Knights (NBL) not Eagles.

Eagles add 6'7 forward Cole Long who played in Sweden last year averaging 10 PPG.

Really not sure on this Eagles roster..... No, me either. But I'd rather we worked to a budget than went bankrupt given the constraints. Seems to have signed plenty of 'classic' BBL type import players with potential upsides but not necessarily pedigree mixed with British vets like JWH, Spencer, Darius. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We also seem to have lost main sponsor again, no mention of 'Serios Group Newcastle Eagles’ at all since end of last season and all the Serios branding was removed from Darius' testimonial over the summer.

All very true. Steutel showed he could do very little with a large budget last season, so not overly upset at less money being spent.

That's good for Glads fans. Means they'll be able to gel quicker as a team.

Obviously nothing is confirmed, but Sam Dekkers wife has posted on IG that they're on the way to London "going back for year 3"! Presumably if true for a massive pay cut

Presumably if true for a massive pay cut So he's failed to get signed in the NBA and they're unwilling to move to a non-Anglophone country. Maybe going back to London he will get paid what he's still owed from last season.

So the big Eagles question remains - is Darius returning ? Is there even a precedent for post-testimonial competition ? I’d certainly like to see him again, but to help the team gel and provide bench impact rather than starting five…..

In sport in general it's definitely possible to have a testimonial and carry on playing Your last comment. We've literally been saying that for close to ten years now!!! Which is fair play to him for always being needed more than you might hope

I would think so, he's still employed by the club as a coach so no reason he shouldn't continue playing. I'd guess the roster will be completed with another import forward, Darius and Kande.

To echo what IRF has said, it's a credit to the guy that he keeps being so reliable every season, although a little embarrassing for the coaches and other players.

Jordan Taylor is back at Lions, very surprised that he didn't jump ship to Europe. He is a great player
