So Nix so far the Trophy plus play offs
Played 9 Won 9
Fingers and everything crossed for 10/10. Not even considering an 11/11 just yet. Impressive support (100+) on their way over to watch, need to match the noise made by theirs last Friday. Time to unleash the Maceo on them!!

I see that Sky haven't bothered to avoid their fixation with Lions. They've never had any intention of showing a home game for Nix ( "just looks like a sports centre"), that's what it is! However despite having a playoff game in Sheffield's new arena at the same time as Lion's they decide to show the Lion's two games. They'll be really upset if we turn up to the O2 next week!!

I didn't watch the game but I'm glad to see this Newcastle team got a respectable score in what will be their last game together. They can be proud of themselves.

Season done for Newcastle, but they can hold their heads up high. Ultimately nobody is going to beat this £ions team over 3 games although it’s not a complete impossibility in a single match if all the cards fall in the right place.
Well done to the excellent London team players. I respect the team even though I despise the ownership model and the procession they have created in the domestic game.
Now to see who will face them…..
Finally, a big bonus was not having to listen to Todd rambling on. Hope Dan gets the final game.

The Sharks Nix game is going to be a bit chippy. Sharks players coming onto Nix half court having giving a bit.

Showed they can hold their own and even control and through transition turn over Lions. However Lions always made the pts they scored looked as if done with ease whereas a lot of Eagles looked like was through hard work. In the end was something like 15 extra offences Eagles had in the game - imagine if just half of those had turned into points or half the free throws left on the line had been converted. Lions though always looked like they had another gear to use - and that comes from the super strength they have in bench and squad. End of day, the seeding was reflected and a 2-0

Referee is an ass in Sheffield but we need to shift the focus away from them and make some damn shots.

Phoenix easily beat Sharks on the latter's court. I will be rooting for them to defeat £ions in the playoff final. Unlikely BUT it's a rematch of the Trophy final. We all know what happened there.

Phoenix are very talented, good coach and great recruitment. Completely outplayed us at both ends of the floor entirely.
Sadly they made themselves thoroughly dislikable tonight. Coach Thomas trying, and succeeding, to get Atiba booted out was low. And Rideau goading all the Sharks, especially Ramsey just seemed snide.
Hope, and expect, Lions to stuff em.

I don't think Atiba needs any help in being ejected. Think it was the referees that did for him.

Strangely I could not find the Eagles vs Lions Game 2 on YouTube anywhere and then clicked on the Game 2 of Nix vs Sharks where I accidentally saw the result.
After Friday nights massacre I felt I had seen enough to say that the game wasn't worth watching though and just watched the 1st half of Nix vs Sharks then stopped after Atiba got ejected.
As I thought where was this officiating crew for us on Friday night? Given how little tolerance they gave Sharks if it had have been Lions in the 1st half on Friday they would have all been sat on the bus and ejected given how much moaning they were allowed to get away with.
Nix vs Lions should be a good finals match up and one which I will be backing the Nix on and out of all the teams that faced Lions this season they certainly are the team that have put on the best performances against them.
And given the fact they managed to get one over on Lions and for the BBL it will be a game that you could real market off the back of that. That's if 777 are going to make any effort to actually market this final?
I wish the Nix luck and would say they are a team that deserve it the most for how they have been throughout the season. Although do I think Lions will allow themselves to be showed up on the big stage again? I reckon Lions would have been wanting this finals match up since the Trophy in order to exact some vengence for that defeat.
All I can say good luck to the Underdogs!

777 will not have any funds to market the final, they are now run by the insolvancy practitioners, who will not only be cutting all expenditure, but will be trying to recover as much money owed as possible.

Congratulations to Marc Steutel and the Eagles for a really entertaining season, and holding their own well into Q3 in what must have been a tough trip after Friday. I expect there will be various close season threads on who we want back, but for once it's easier to list who we don't want back, which is Will Neighbour, as even Scott Spencer could improve with more experience/minutes. Of the 3 guards, I'd miss Larry the least, and really hope JJ doesn't leave in a huff after his recent benching. If we can keep the bulk of this team together and £ions go the way of the Royals, there's a real chance of a clean sweep next season and DD retiring as Mr. 30 - you heard it here first !

Well said, I agree I would like to see most this Eagles team back especially if we take on Europe next season with some new additions to replace Neighbour, Spencer and Darius if he retires. In the Fab days I remember their being season where we would be lucky enough to sign most of our entire team back with the exceptions of 1 or 2 who usually went off elsewhere to higher leagues. Will that happen this off season? Given our ENBL exposure and how the league has changed then I reckon their could be more eyes on us from teams in the league and will we be looking to do the same? Whilst I'm glad we never cut anyone this season I do hope next season we don't allow anyone apart from the kids to ride the bench next season.

JJ starting on the bench is a tactical decision which I believe has been a success. I do hope it doesn't hurt JJ's ego. I don't think it should but maybe some players would take it personally.
