To go further in Europe I think Eagles need a higher level centre. No disrespect to Defoe who is incredible to be a starter at his age, and Delpheche is a decent BBL player, but BBL level is their ceiling. I thought Neighbour was disappointing against Bakken. I would like Neighbour released and replaced with someone who gets stuck in more. Agreed Neighbour just doesn’t cut it, isn’t mobile Enough and doesn’t get enough rebounds that he should for his height I think what was interesting about this game from listening to commentatory was in the first half we looked like we were rotating options. But then in the 2nd half we seemed a lot more settled with our options and ended up playing some guys like JJ, Ricky, Josh, Defoe and Green as opposed to Austin, Whitfield and Delpeche. Spencer despite the fact he is starting to show alittle more promise didn't feature at all in this game. I think looking at the Bakken team experience and longevity definately helped them win this one. Which leads me on to what happens next season as if Darius retires which I get the impression he might do after this season. Who will be our next big man or our long term player? Whilst I doubt anyone will break his record for longest serving player at the Eagles. After this season this is probably the first season in a while where I have wanted to see the entire team return next year. Under Fab we were lucky enough even after sweep seasons to familiar faces return and stay on with us for a long while. Whilst I imagine alot of our guys will be getting some tasty offers. It would be great if we can somehow convince them to stay on for next year and take on the ENBL again.
