I’ll watch just about any game of basketball but would rather wash my hair than watch the all-star game. But hopefully it will attract some new fans & I’ll be proved an old grump.

To be honest one thing I believe would atleast give some spice to it would be if each team played for a charity and the BBL did something similar to the "NBA cares" and had the players and pundits etc... involved in community work supporting the charities. I know it's something the NBA has done in past All Stars and when you think of events like Soccer Aid it might give some more motivation for players to play competively if their is something on the line.

According to BBL's Instagram page half the tickets have already been sold which is pretty impressive.
The All Star game will only be bad if players refuse to defend.

I enjoyed the first half of the nba game but it got too tedious after the break and especially in the 4th quarter when you hope a bit more effort and smart play will commence, but it didn't. Did you hear Adam Silver during the awards presentation though, he was well pissed off! So expect changes again next year.

Absolute waste of time now, and tbh I think it ties in with the soft mentality of todays players (load management whatever that is, soft calls, flopping and whatever else).
Back in the 90s/00s players didn’t want to back down from anything, didn’t want to show weakness, they didn’t want to lose to anyone. Now, there just doesn’t seem to be that mentality.
As for the bbl all star game? Well I’m not really sure it’ll be much different.

He looks like someone who didn't get the Christmas presents he wanted but also believes it is the thought that counts. www.facebook.com/share/r/PgkEBJp4HE1r2kgS/If the BBL have sold half the tickets I wonder how many they gave away for free. Worst case scenario I could imagine it similar to when Uefa hosted the Europa League final in the middle East afew years ago between Chelsea and Arsenal. Which was so poorly attended and embarrassing the hosts starting letting fans in for free. The All Star Saturday night sounded more interesting particularly the Sabrina vs Steph NBA and WNBA crossover. That I thought was cool.

I suppose it means we might be able to afford to play harder and avoid injury right before an important game. The only other Eagle I can see being picked is potentially Mcgill. But I imagine they will look for guards from other teams in order to get more teams involved.

There is bound to be at least 2 more guards in the squad, probably more. As much as I agree the All Star Game isn't important, it is nevertheless a compliment to the players to be selected, along with JWH being selected for GB.

The Women's North starting 5 has been selected. As to be expected there is more of a spread of players from different teams compared to the men's All Star starting 5, with some WBBL teams being a mixture of semi pro players and students. All but one of the players is British, again reflecting the fact that the WBBL is not a professional league.
Georgia Anderson, Guard, Manchester Giants Georgia Gayle, Guard, Sheffield Hatters and GB Harriett Ottewill-Sousby, Forward, Durham Emma Eichmeyer,(German), Forward, Sheffield Hatters Kirsty Brown, Centre, Gladiators and GB
With no GB women games and facing probably a GB and London Lions heavy opposition I am expecting and hoping for this game to be played very competitively. For some of these players this could be their first chance (although unlikely) of getting a win against a de facto London Lions team.

As much as I rate him I disagree with Decker being selected since he has barely played this season and I thought was injured? Is this game by any chance going to be part of his rehab?

I believe this is purely done on the public vote. Decker is one of the most popular players in the league. I'm not sure where he's up to with his rehab. It would be nice to see him put in a few minutes if it coincides with his recovery. People want to see him, especially in London.

To be honest I been seeing more and more articles from the NBA calling this year the death of the All Star Game.
I wonder what will be done next season to change this or if they will do away with it and go for something else?
They did do that NBA in season tournament back in November & December which sounded like it was successful.
Maybe the NBA would consider investing more into that and running it in the 2nd half of the season as opposed to the beginning of the season.

Always going to be part of it in a fan vote. I'm pretty sure Ja Morant got hundreds of thousands of votes this year despite barely playing in the NBA through suspension and injury. I'd be very surprised if we saw Decker suit up for this. The coach will likely just pick an alternate.
