This is good. How long is it open for and why is it a secret ballot?

How's it secret? It's right there?

It says just under the poll when it will close - in this case on Sunday at midnight. I agree, its not secret? You have to post if you want to say who you voted for but that's the same on all polls here. I said Nurse because he did win more and he went on to become an NBA head coach quicker (even though Finch made the NBA as an assistant first) and went on to win a title. I know that shouldn't matter and it should be what they did in the BBL but it does add weight for me, in the sense that it backs up the additional success he had over Finch in the BBL, so either way he'd get my vote.

How's it secret? It's right there? In the Coaches ballot you could see the ongoing results once you had voted. On the two most recent you cannot. I like watching polls as they develop.

Sorry Sam but that information does not appear on my phone. A vagary of pro boards perhaps.

We are using one of the options the software allows for polls. This way, members are not influenced by seeing who other people have voted for.
Also, we are not responsible for the way you access the site!

Hold up! I'm not sure this is quite as clear cut as some of the other posters are making out. Finch won 4 trophies as a BBL coach (5 if you count the northern conference) and he coached the national team and at the Olympics (granted Nurse coached Canada at the world cup)! Finch was the first to win a D/Gleague title. can't remember all the clubs Nurse coached but how many more trophies did he actually win in the BBL? π

I think the votes are visible to moderators only, until the poll closes.

Arguably the biggest / most memorable game in BBL History:
2 April 1999 : Nurse 85 Finch 87
Thereβs your tiebreaker

Lets not forget, finch was the head coach of GB with Nurse underneath. Nurse would later over take in the basketball head coaching world of course though. For me its 2 British championships each for me (i dont count the cups, i begrudgingly accept the league as the true championship, but the 3 conference seasons were decided by the play offs), Nurse with 1999/2000 and 2003/04, Finch with 1998/99 and 2002/03.
Having said that i went for Nurse solely because i was mightily impressed that he wound up winning an NBA championship. Probably not solely the reason, i still appreciate his season with the Towers lol.
Frigging heck were we good that season, we were 24-1 going into the game that would clinch the southern conference (we lost to the Lions but got it right the following weekend versus the Jets). Has any team ever reached 24-1 since (the lone loss up to that point was a stuffing from the Tigers on sky sports in October). Once we sealed the southern conference we just sat back to a 27-7 record which just didnt give our season justice, then lost to the cinderella Riders in the Semis.

The voting has now closed. With 75% of the votes cast, Nick Nurse is now inducted to the coaches section of the UK Basketball HOF.
