From what I saw of Manchester on Friday. They will need to seriously play alot better then what they did against us. Given how Leicester have a deeper squad then what we had I would predict Riders win in this one.
That being said whenever I confidently predict a shoe in victory usually the result goes the other way. But I'm going to stick to my guns and say Riders to win.

So will Duke Shelton be playing tomorrow night against Giants? Glad we've resolved the need to replace Bridges.

So who's the new signing, I hope he's big. Duke Shelton, who's 6 feet 10 inches tall.

Wow did not expect this to be a signing for Leicester or Duke to return to the BBL. To be honest I liked Duke as well and to be fair on his day he can be an effective inside player. You could say he would fit in more with the Gladiators he is the sort of player to Dunk and then hype the crowd as if to say "Are you not entertained!". Only thing with Duke when it comes to hyping the crowd is he can sometimes get lost in transition which could be an issue for Rob so he will have to be able control his ego. To be honest his departure from the Eagles last season was a weird one as he just disappeared and it wasn't announced for like a month after he went which I didn't like. Again if Manchester are as bad as they were against us then it will be the perfect game to test the waters with him. Although given how we play Leicester next week I will be curious to see the reception he gets as we route against him for a change.

Well we had a player who very definitely was in love with himself and did the, "Are you..." schtick and he was league MVP twice. To be fair to him he was also great at getting back to defend. However, I reckon Coach Rob will pretty quickly let Duke know what's expected from him if he doesn't get back in transition. I'm not averse to a bit of showmanship if it gees up the crowd to get behind the team. Sport's meant to be entertaining. I'd have liked him signed earlier but at least he's on the roster now and God knows we need a player who can dominate inside.

Whether we win tomorrow depends a lot on how well we share the ball and also defend as if our lives depend on it. There were too many instances of hero ball stuff against Lions. Crucial we secure the points and I expect to see us with a much higher shooting percentage against Giants. There's no doubt that Walshe, Lewis, Lee and Anderson can score freely when they are on song so I'm hoping they're off key. Three of them will have a big point to prove against Riders.

I love the way we are scratching around trying to improve and trying to find a way to create a team to challenge for a trophy and/or playoffs still!
Still a big ask
But cant say we aren't trying to plug that big big gap between us and Lions

"Duke will have to quickly find a way to play to Riders system as well or won't get many minutes"
Lol
Riders 'system' disappeared as soon as Teddy Allen and his 20 plus shots a game showed up.

Idowu has benefited from Allen's assists and I expect Shelton to as well. It's one of Allen's strengths which seems to be underestimated because so much attention goes on his scoring prowess. Hard to see how a low post player of Shelton's ability won't be found by Mackenzie, Holmes and Allen. Shame that Russell's knee injury means he'll be unavailable for at least a month but we are pretty strong in terms of guards. Hope he recovers quickly for his sake.

Still a big ask But cant say we aren't trying to plug that big big gap between us and Lions l'm impressed with what Riders have done since the 3 amigos vamoosed. The season was looking pretty dire without the addition of a proper low post player to replace Bridges. Can't complain about the club's lack of ambition. Much more cheerful than my usual Eeyore self now Shelton has been added
