Hope so, be good for Phoenix winning, Caledonian losing and I don't really care about the other one. Be interesting to see how many of the A team of Lions suit up they gave Nix the respect in having 6 playing 25mins +. ( I know Olaseni only did 23!).

Fancy Nix to beat Eagles. As much as I hate to say it I agree Nix are probably the favourites right now. After what happened at the end of the last game against Nix I wonder how Larry will he greeted as a returner for the Nix. Having said that since his ejection and him and Green getting into bother I like to think they will both calm down this time. After a great run of wins in November we seem to have slipped on a ski slope of losses in December losing 3 games on the bounce. However it would be nice if we can get 1 more win before Christmas! Go Eagles! 🏀 🦅

Scorchers 2-16 from 3 at halftime …
But only down by 9 so things are looking good for when we go 16-16 in the 2nd.

Well Eagles ahead at the end of 1st Quarter but seemed like we were doing everything we could to throw the lead away. Lucky to be up 47-40 at HT.
Cheshire seem to have a really good crowd in and I imagine for Eagles fans who travelled this would be a good dayout before Christmas as I heard Cheshire is good for local Christmas markets.
Right now if this game was a christmas I'm not sure if this game is going to turn into the Nightmare before Christmas or Die Hard right now depending on how was do in the 2nd half.
As for the 3 wise referees so far can't say much bad about them although I find it amusing how all 3 of them are bald today. I hope for a great 2nd half of play and hopefully the Eagles can overcome a disaster December so far!

Get in, looks like the movie it ended up being was "The Grinch" since we were able to go to Cheshire and steal Christmas this game. A great 2nd half from the Eagles and it shows that European Trip midweek managed to renergise our team and break the cursed cycle of losses.
Maybe we do better after all whenever we have back to back games. I'm now nervous with 10 days off until our next match up we're going to somehow lose the ENBL match on the 28th December. But overall a well deserved win and some better play for the Eagles.
As for Cheshire looks like it was a tough day for them and Ben Thomas was clealry unhappy with the showboating at the end and dropped afew F bombs during a timout at his guys. It seemed similar to our loss to Surrey at the start of the month where they didn't expect to lose.
I will say this I do like Cheshires hall and did enjoy the commentary as well today. I'm suprised Ellesmere Port doesn't get the Sky TV treatment? Overall I'm glad we managed to break the disaster December run of losses.
In other news I'm suprised that nobody is talking about that London Lions game on here yet after what sounded like a get out of jail win for the Lions!

Nix were poor, very disjointed and seemed to lack any motivation. Eagles were first to any loose balls, they were so quick on the the breakaway with Green and Austin Jr showing why they were such a success elsewhere last season.

So, London fans - was that all in the script? To be fair, two get of jail wins in a weekend is a sign of a united team, but really………..? Against a team owned by the BBL with its spending controlled by the league………?

Will be interesting to see if these two squeaky wins in the (not a priority) BBL prove good prep for Wednesday’s EuroCup game v Prometey, or whether the extra minutes & adrenaline cost them in the (much more important) Euro game.

Good to see what eagles are capable of especially after Nix won on our court not so long ago, fully deserved as well

Eagles one again look a good team when taking the opponents seriously and seemed to do a good job of shutting down how Cheshire want to play.
A really good result, but a frustrating one when you look at their approach to our 2 most recent home games. Hopefully at some point the penny will drop with them.

Against a team owned by the BBL with its spending controlled by the league………? I think the Cheshire win was an example of London being able to beat any team in the league 99% of the time if they really want to. I think the Manchester win was also that, but also some good old fashioned luck being on their side at just the right time. I think London deserved the Cheshire win, but I'm not so sure about the Manchester one.

Well I finally got around to watching Nix v Eagles and boy was it worth it. When on song this Eagles team are a joy to watch. McGill continues to impress with 37 points in 37 minutes. Green too was impressive with a huge double double of 19 points and 17 rebounds including 9 offensive. I was surprised that Nix continued fouling with the game already gone. All this did was pad out the points to 37 for us and turned a defeat into a blow out.

The full London squad, playing hard, should always beat all the other BBL sides - not least because their player budget is at least 10x larger than any other team in the league. But whether they will win on any given day depends on players injured/ being rested, minutes played by main players and also whether they are really at the races or just going through the motions. They were lucky to win both games this last weekend and I wonder whether the loads borne by key players other than Decker will really help them in Wednesday’s Euro up game.

Well that Eagles performance vs Cheshire must have been so scary the European Team we were meant to face have had to reschedule the game and we're now playing Plymouth at home on the 28th December 2023.
Strange to think we are playing back to back Plymouth again and then won't see them again for the rest of the season after that unless both teams meet in the final 4 of the Trophy or meet in the playoffs.
