Realistically neither of them will be fit until the Trophy is finished. And, if it then takes a couple of weeks to get back to real match fitness, neither will be back to their best (whatever that is - haven’t seen it) until mid- Feb. So really it’s a question of getting everyone back to best for the play-offs!

That's what I thought although right now in the league I think every other team are fighting to finish 2nd or 3rd place so they don't draw London until the final as let's be honest no one is beating them in a best of 3 series. From looking at the Facebook pages on both stories it's great to see the fans being so understanding and supportive though.

If I was an Eagles fan k wouldn’t be too worried, as both players have contributed virtually nothing this season. Spencer did show a couple of positive signs but clearly wasn’t 100%.
What is interesting is that Eagles have decided to keep both on, after the circus of signings and cuts from last season. If anything I think most people would have probably expected both to be cut and replaced! Especially with Spencer taking up an import slot.

In one way yes but then at the same time when it come to recruitment we had the same thing with Ben Mockford last season where he barely played and was on the bench most the season. And also I am questioning if we have any plans to keep them beyond this season at all? Although it sounds very cut throat keeping 2 players literally for the curtain end of the season sounds risky financially. And if we go up against Lions before the final (unless they have crash with the 777 situation or Eurocup etc...) we might aswell kiss the playoffs goodbye. Which makes me wonder if we'd not be better doing similar to Riders and cutting players and hiring 1 or 2 players that can play minutes.

9th and 10th man on the roster who have both only contributed in (small) patches. Leaves us lacking size and even when Neighbour isn't playing great (he's never been fully fit since he arrived) he still pulls defenders out as you wouldn't leave him open from the perimeter. Assume at this point we'd have to pay up their contracts so may as well just leave them and see what happens. I think at this point I'd rather get rid of the coach than chop the roster up 😭 fourth quarter blow outs against Surrey and Bristol in consecutive home games not acceptable.

Neighbour is also a very effective screen for players like Johnson who only need a small gap to drive to the basket. He's such a big obstruction to defenders.

Whilst the losses to Bristol and Surrey weren't great I wouldn't exactly call them blowouts. Especially not compared to our defeats against Sheffield and Leicester away earlier on in the season and London at home. But I agree whilst the Surrey game I felt was a one off bad night after a run of good wins I felt the Bristol game was one we needed to win if we wanted to look like serious contenders for top 4 this year. And given how we weren't playing back to back we had little excuses other then injuries.

I feel Eagles players need to sort their attitudes out, and fast. Way to many ego's. The way Larry acted in the 4th was disgraceful. Bad officiating or not, you cant do that. I didn't see the Surrey game but watching the 4th quarter against Bristol was painful. Turned into a team of individuals. It was always going to be a difficult team to Coach, when you sign the leagues top players from the season before. Not even NBA level coaches can deal with that! Look at the Brooklyn Nets super team, they didn't last long. Its a reason I see Cheshire are doing so well. No real stars from previous seasons, and playing great team Basketball.

Think it's on both parties to be honest. I feel like the team don't go about their business in a very professional way and have thrown away a few games now that were winnable, but they couldn't be bothered to stick to a scouting report. The most egregious one being how they just let Justin Robinson get to his shot so easily a couple weeks ago. Dropping a home game to a team below us in the league. Ultimately, it's also down to the coaching staff to keep them focused on what they're supposed to be doing. No one is covering themselves in glory at Eagles (Defoe excluded). There's no hiding place for Steutel now, it seems to be pretty common knowledge that they've spent a fortune this season on proven BBL talent.

I think right now the only saving grace is that despite not being fantastic I do think we play much better basketball then we have done the past 2 seasons. However as I have said before looking at the talent recruited though I think anything less then top 4 this season could be lights out for Stetuel. If we had the squad from the past 2 seasons I would be okay with 6th so far but I think given we have I would have expected us a little higher in the standings. But theirs still a long way to go with the season.
