We lost 3 American imports and recruited a British rookie. This weekend we played the top two teams in the BBL, one of them at home and the other away. Yet we did alright against the strongest Lions roster we've seen yet and only just lost out to Nix. Think I won't panic just yet.

Exactly my thoughts I thought we were going to beat Nix the way the game was going To be able to get so close without an import in the squad shows the quality of the rest of the squad tbh

Are you sure as at the moment the Riders are following the same pattern the Eagles did post Fab? Compared to what they were at their best - Eagles went downhill badly whilst Fab was still there. Not post Fab. The slide had started well before he jumped ship. And back then Fab didn't have the current Lions squad to compete with Riders and the rest of BBL have been overtaken by Lions. Theres nothing anybody can do about that sadly. They've come in and spent money to recruit at European level not BBL level Clearly Riders need to improve. Our imports have all failed this season. Rare for all of them to fail so badly together. But we've still got the best coach in BBL and he will steer us through. Can we win trophies whilst Lions are spending like they are. Probably unlikely. Can we compete with and beat everybody else in BBL. Of course we can but this season has been a blip in that respect Teams like Nix and Eagles won't want to be playing us in the playoffs either. Even if we are STILL playing without imports in the squad Rob will thrive on being written off or being under dogs Other coaches would just fall away in same situation

However back on topic saying that the Eagles were going down hill before Fab left even though the worst I had seen us finish under him was 3rd. That seems no different if not worse for the Riders right now since they still have Rob and are in 7th?

This is the worst defensive riders team I’ve seen since Rob took the job. And probably the season or two before as well. Cheshire live and die by the D’Antoni fast paced drive dish score fast three ball offence - so what do this riders team do? Play a zone for most of the first half - laughable. This team needs a complete overhaul, not just the lads that have left. There’s 3 or 4 there now that simply aren’t up to the level youd expect.

irf at it again.
more tosh
flournoys last two season finishes
3rd and 3rd
(in the 13 years before that, either 1st or 2nd take your pick)
think riders would take 3rd this year at the moment?

Surprised at the anti Rob.P sentiment I've seen around. Surely he's earned a down season after all the success. Goes to show tough it is to stay at the top for so long.
I'm sure they'll sort it out.

Can you point out to me proof of this “anti Rob.P sentiment”? There’s a bit of it doing the rounds on twitter, but I’d say that’s more casual fans who don’t understand what he’s done or the game in general so much. Of everyone involved in that organisation, he’s in the top two you don’t release.

Would be absolutely ridiculous for any Riders fan to question the coach position Question this season's results and performance for sure. That's sport it's a results business Nobody will be more concerned about the results than Rob P though

I'm a Forest fan. We have fickle fans questioning our manager right now.
Someone who's worked absolute miracles just to get us where we are in the first place
I can't even converse with these guys on forums or social media as will just upset me further how fickle they are
But in comparison to Rob and basketball and Riders it's nothing.
What Rob has achieved at Riders means he should have a job for life there or at least until he decides to leave at which stage good luck Riders trying to replace him
The only other person Bigz could be thinking of who is irreplaceable is surely Kevin Routledge?
Who helps fund everything Riders do and who in his own way has worked miracles at the club
Jelson also irreplaceable as sponsors of course?

If it's time for Rob to go than Pep's next - even he's telling fans not to expect to win all the time !

That's sport it's a results business Nobody will be more concerned about the results than Rob P though There was a group of four lads (16/17 year olds) who continually walked up and down the court throughout the game on Friday mouthing off at the bench and at the end of the second leaned right over the barrier and shouted abuse at Rob. He reacted, jumped up and followed them to the end of the court where he and Russell spoke to ‘Security’ Should have been kicked out but weren’t and then apparently they trolled him on social media after the game.
