Just wondering what people feel the impact of Beexit has had in British ball. I have a number of hunches which may or may not be valid.
Less opportunities for Brits to play pro ball.. I don’t closely follow the bbl anymore but I’m guessing having the likes of Dan Clark and Teddy O playing for giants and Phoenix wouldn’t have occurred pre brexit. So we have less brits in Europe IW we’re imports and bbl teams can have 4 Americans. I’m guessing there won’t be many Brits leaving college and getting a pro spot in Europe or GB.
Has the standard of the bbl increased? If so has this been manifested by bums on seats or greater sponsorship.
Are our colleges able to enter the European college competition. Myerscough entering and winning the competition 2 years ago probably the best promotion in recent years for our game. No doubt great development for the players.
For me just the reduction in opportunities for Brits to go pro makes it a negative for me

I think we will just see more brits end up in asia and south america. Soko and hesson playing in Japan for example. Im sure Dan clark has a spanish citizenship for how long he has been there (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Maybe in certain situations but the rules are different in every league anyway, Germany for example is 6 Germans, 6 non-Germans, so no different. Spain (I think) is 5 EU, 5 NON-EU European and 2 imports, so still plenty roster places for a Brit.

Hopefully we see more of the better British players joining the BBL, whether that be from college or ones who were already playing in Europe, as has been said above I think the ones who are really good enough will still find their way onto rosters in Europe, I suppose it is a negative for the players to be less valuable now because their passport is worth less but this could end up being a good thing for British basketball on the whole

Do brits in europe not now count as imports? So its a us player or a gb player?
