Quite the braintrust Eagles have all under one roof at the Vertu Motors Arena now. Steutel, Newby and McLeod.
Proud that the organisation is able to employ all these British coaches at the same time. It'll be interesting to see Coach Newby he can get more out of the ladies at his disposal than Noellia did. I wish her well in whatever she's gone on to, she seemed a very nice girl.

Lol lol lol It's a matter of when not if Let's all be completely honest about this Obvious next coach of Eagles men At which stage it will be a great move by them and they will be more competitive He's the only guy I could see come remotely close to replacing Rob at Riders one day And even then he couldn't replace Rob of course Ps Eagles management finally listened to me First I gave them a brick Now I've given them the answer Classic IRF šš«” Tell me I'm wrong though!!

Tell me I'm wrong though!! Iām assuming they have secured him now so can switch when they deem it prudent mate Very shrewd move by Eagles Also allows him to find somewhere to live in the region for him and any family he has and get settled in He might never be needed of course for the men But I suspect he will

First job, Newbie needs to sort out the Eagles defence.

It wouldn't be an Eagles thread without IRF and his Rob tinted glasses.š¤£ Rob is good, no doubt about that. Fab is ahead of him in so many metrics, especially trophies won. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story, eh? Saint Rob may overtake Fab and if he does then heartiest congratulations to him. But not yet, not, even, close. The ONLY metric to measure a coach on is trophies. Rob is not even close. As for Kevin Cadle, his record speaks for itself. 30 trophies including 2 European wins, before my time but Rob is at least a distant third. So far. I have no problem with Cadle being the GOAT. Check out his Wiki page.

Ouch!
Between watch Eagles@Glads vs Eagles ladies vs the Lions tonight. Safe to say I made the right choice choosing to stay home and watch the Men away instead wasting my time and money watching the Eagles women get dismantled tonight.
115-48 even against London does not look like a good result for any team. Seems like Coach Newby already has his work cut out for him. Hopefully in the coming weeks he can manage to figure out our team and start turning our ladies team around.

This wonāt be the only team to get hammered by Lions by 70 in the WBBL this season. Itās a complete mismatch of a competition driven by Lionsā budget.
And I know Iāll get slated by the āGo out & find a new investorā crew for saying it, but just as I wish London all the best in Europe I donāt think the mismatch in budget & talent is going to help the WBBL at all.
Hope Iām wrong!

Very harsh to judge Eagles WBBL on last night's game with London. Both teams are operating in completely different stratospheres. The Lions WBBL project is actually an even more pointless exercise than the men's side. They are never, ever going to make that model sustainable.

There is funding specifically for women's sports and there could be more in the future. There is this scheme I have mentioned before, which basketball didn't apply for www.gov.uk/government/news/womens-sport-to-be-boosted-by-new-investment-schemeAll it takes is for someone from London Lions to convince a sponsor that London Lions women is something they want to support and be associated with.

I'd be surprised if an organisation as shady as 777 are going to be handed public funds any time soon. Although you never know with that shower of shite we have running things. Lions WBBL are rumoured to be spending Ā£2 million a season minimum, don't think this will cover it.

Not surprising though with wages, travel and venues including the Copper Box. Yeah I can't see anyone else funding that. And 777 Partners are not an organisation you would choose to be associated with. I think it's fair to say London Lions Women will be a professional team only for as long as 777 Partners are funding them.
